I don't get why you said DOAU of all games. You could get a SS in like an hour lol.
No avatar lobbies.
Doa4 lobbies are never coming back so take the lobby system from U and prop it up with the ranking system from 4.

The online pass implementation crippled the online community. There was no need for an online pass given that the game uses a peer to peer connection between players. EA just realized that they have been shooting themselves in the foot with online passes by effectively missing out on DLC transactions and slowly killing their online communities and they've decided that they will no longer require them for, Tecmo-Koei needs to follow suit if they're serious about making money from (real) DLC sales and keeping the online community strong.
Bad netcode plus an already skeptical collection of early adopters looking for reasons not to like it are to blame.
Bad net code
Balance issues
Limited online options
Limited offline modes
Negative stigma

I don't think the online pass played a big role in how 'dead' the online is for DOA5. If anything there are several reasons/factors involved.
P.S. Oh, and yeah online passes are shit, but don't go praising EA. Just wait and see.

How come when I go in to buy a used copy of a game a week or so after release I find it listed at $55 (the same price I can buy it for used anywhere else) then? For reference, a used DOA5 copy is going for ~$20 on eBay, ~$18 on Amazon, $25 at Best Buy, and $25 at GameFly. Game$top has it for $20 and whether the online pass will be intact is a huge maybe, that doesn't show an online pass being factored in to me.

How much is it new?
It's going for $20 new at Amazon. It's also going for $20 new at GameStop (and $20 used) hence my point that GameStop doesn't factor in the cost of online passes regardless of what the PR department says or tells their employees to say.
Julius Rage said:On every game with an online pass the price is offset by that amount and is still less than it is new.
So you're probably right in this case but this might simply be a situation where information isn't being related to the right people.
Still, Tekken is more used + the pass and is more new too. Passes aren't much.of an issue.
Julius Rage said:2k13 doesn't have an online pass.
Silly me, but that doesn't address the discrepancy between DOA5 going for $20 new or used at GameStop and them claiming that they factor in the price of online games when they sell them used.
Julius Rage said:But the game is 20 new which is less than Tekken, bbcsex And persona.
Online passes aren't the issue here and as soon as it's brought to Gamestop the price will be lowered.
