Looks like the game is available at select retailers.

I encountered a giantbomb reviewer, but that was about it. So far not anyone as popular like a gamespot or ign. Websites like mashbuttons and xboxaddict were reviewers i also played against.
Oh shit im playing the rage quitter again.

1. Nerfed counters
2. More guaranteed damage
3. 2 new characters
4. Better sidesteps (which should buff the neutral game)
5. Critical Burst
6. Limited comeback mechanic (Power Blows)
7. More dynamic stage interaction

That's at least 7 new things that I can off the top of my head alone.
He's just being pessimistic.

So man, they sold out on Zack lol, I guess this time he doesn't have his space alien costume. I was actually hoping his DJ costume would return, but something tells me the space alien costume is going to be DLC. He had better costumes on Dead or Alive 4.
I don't know if I was being delusional, but when I played him in survival, I thought a saw a laser that came right out from his eyes.
LOL the rage quitter made the game more laggy and quit right before the game ended. Too bad i still kicked his ass

Yes tested out to see if he has any other available costumes, but it stopped at 4.

Nope. The only way to find out is by doing another arcade, survival, or time attack mode with a different difficulty and see if there is another costume available.
Also minor bug (probably be patched soon): Everything in the options menu is saved except for the japanese/english voices. I always have to switch to japanese every time i turn on my xbox since it keeps getting sent back to english.
Fuh... 10 min currently waiting for a rank match
Really, that sounds incredibly annoying. I hated changing it in the alpha demo all the time.

Still got your points and win and the knowledge that someone on the internet is having sweet salty tears right now because of you. LOL

1,2, 4 to 6 is just 1 that's just new and improved game play in a nut shell.
3 is Number 2 (2 new characters)
7 is number 3
Number 4 better graphics
Number 5 is deeper story mode
Number 6 is Guest Characters (only if you're a fan of those, I'm not)

What it lacks and please don't make excuses for it:
1. More new characters and some returning ones (highly important)
2. A movie Ending for Arcade Mode (regardless of what you think this is VERY important)
3. More costumes for certain characters (all characters should get fair treatment sometimes)
4. A brand new game mode to add new flavor (Important but not highly)
5. Lacks A respectable interesting boss (just my opinion, but this boss is the most lame of them all and you'll see soon) Plus, this boss should not be unlockable because you already have it (technically)

To explain number 2 why it's VERy important, developers should never take out what's usually been done and expect casual fans not to be disappointed. They're expecting that content to already be there and yes there are people on gamefaqs who are not buying it just because arcade mode doesn't have endings. Yes I know all casual fans may not care for endings for each character, but most do.
Say what you will, but that's my take on the game so far.

You know would have better, if the game I just played with him right now was a rank match. I thought we were playing rank match until i saw that you only needed only two rounds to win. Too bad he's not messaging me in French since his profile says he's from France. I would have replied back to him since I know a bit of French.

1. Nerfing counters wasn't necessary. If you want to be literal, then you got me on that. DOA5 did indeed nerf counters.
2. More Guaranteed Damage. Again, not necessary, but if you want to be literal, DOA5 does indeed have more of that.
3.
Actually, most of the things you listed here are just being quite literal, while actually not being necessary. So I'm just going to get on and say that Free Stepping has been in the series since forever, and worked fine as it was intended. Some characters had side-step command attacks like Hayate, Hitomi, Kokoro, Bayman's rolling leg grab, etc. and those were just fine as character specific moves because it helped add variation to the cast of fighters. Citing Critical Burst after "more guaranteed damage" is redundant. The power blows are a neat addition, and yes - the stages are dynamic (something DOA has always been known for).

That being said, here are a few counter-arguments (Not that i'm trying to argue, I just don't know what else to call them):
1. It's been seven years since DOA4. Having better graphics and additional new characters goes without saying. Taking that into consideration, we also lost two fighters who have been around since DOA2 and featured in every DOA game sans the Xtreme Beach Volleyball series. On top of that, we lost Tengu who's also been around since DOA2 but went on hiatus for DOA3, thankfully making a return in DOA4 and DOAD. We also lost Raidou and Genra who were the bosses of DOA1 and DOA3 respectively, who made their triumphant returns for DOAD.
All in all, DOAD had 24 unique characters and no guest characters. DOA5 has 21 unique characters.

2. DOA5 lacks costume variety, but since it's been seven years since DOA4 with many other fighting games on the market that allow you to customize your character's costume, what DOA5 is actually lacking is a customization feature.

3. Although the stages are great, it's also nice to fight on normal stages. Normal stages like beaches, snowy hillsides, forest trails, and bridges. The least "dynamic" of the DOA5 stages are essentially Tatami and Dead or Alive. There's no real variation there. Also it would have been nice to retain character themes, or have new character themes. Simple stage themes as well as the entire focus of stages in general make it seem like DOA5 is an environment simulator, not a fighting game with character(s).

4. Story mode is nice. The actual story remains to be loved or detested by fans of the series. I've seen the ending credits and after-credit videos on Youtube already since I don't plan on buying this game anytime soon, but obviously still remain interested in the DOA series as a whole. Again, the story mode explaining how to play the game with mini-missions for each fight to help people understand the game is neat. I can't say the actual story of DOA5 is where it should have been at this point though, unless an enhanced DOA5 or new DOA6 is coming out next year.

The game did a lot of neat things, but it also missed a lot of marks. I'm actually really sick of trying to show people what's "wrong" with this game, so i'm going to stop. If people want to enjoy it, then it should be beyond me to take that from them. It's not an explicitly bad game.

I was like you at first, and then I remembered we would have DLCs. Don't worry coco.

You get a title if you unlock all of a characters costumes, you can check in the extras tab.
So far I've got Kokoro's, Helena's, Kasumi's, Mila's, and Ayane's sets. Looks like you need those swimsuits to Complete Tina's and Christie's, and Lisa might have one, or she has a another type of mystery outfit, and it looks the same for Lei Fang. Not gonna bother trying to get the swimsuits.

That is ridiculous, how could they leave something that integral out? You better be able to back out of the character select if the connection is not up to par.
I was really looking forward to try online mode, but I guess we have through it DOAD style again, what a disappointment. :(

I personally found FS to have good netcode, but not as good as SCV. I can play cross continental in SCV without that much trouble but in FS its unplayable.

-This is the whole purpose of this site, for people that Like the game, despite whether it met all of their expectations or not. Trying to convince people to do so otherwise is limiting their enjoyment and excitement of the game, and making them think twice about posting in the forums. I am glad that you have come to the conclusion of letting these players be, and you stopping this blockade against their enjoyment.

Thanks. That helps a bunch. I can't seem to unlock the last Tina outfit as well.

No more team battle.
Day 1 of playing DOA 5 online was pretty bad. Half of the matches I played were unplayable and I played 50. However, most the opponents I encountered have been from different countries. Going to test out the online again today to see if it has changed.
