Always will do Christie and Kasumi xD though im kinda excited to try out Lisa and Mila. I never took the time to really learn many characters in Doa4. Looking to change that this time round.

I plan to stick with Tina as my number 1, she'll be my first grappler.
Lisa, Helena, and Chrisite will be the others I'll use.

Dude, those used to be the matches in DOA2U where you'd have to bust out the popcorn, candy, and pop. It's priceless seeing two Tengus trade those wild body-tossing grabs and slams while the players are dissing eachother over the mics. Yep, rare sight indeed in this day and age...

I never played DOAU online sadly, so I was just referring to DOA4. I've seen very little Tengu aside from myself. I pretty much exclusively play him. And yeah, his throws are amazingly awesome. They're part of the reason why he's my favorite character in the series.

Cutting Leon, Ein and Tengu was silly. I want them back.

I couldn't care less about Ein, but I really don't see why the other two were cut. Especially Bankotsubo. I would continue to main him no matter how bad he turned out.

That is sad, there were quite a few Bankotsubo players back in 05-06. You'd have been among a true fellowship back then.

Yeah, but I hear that he was broken in DOAU. It wouldn't really be all that fun winning with such a cheap character. Knowing that, I probably wouldn't have mained him back then, despite how awesome he is. I'd certainly keep him under my belt as a backup though. I could never totally abandon the gu... expect for in DOA5 :(.

I wish his C3 from DOAU had been in DOA4. That was his coolest costume ever, followed by C2 from DOAD.

All I know is this time I'm gonna try and find a character that fits my style. Chances are Ryu will always be my favorite though. The question is what is my style lol? @_@

So many characters look fun this time around. I'm going to have to sort through half the cast at this rate.

Join me, as we go through each and every character through thousands of random matches and hours in versus, single-player and training modes.
With our combined strength, we can end this destructive conflict, and bring order to the tournament!

I know, me too. There are only a select few characters that I have little to no interest in, and I'll still be trying out even those characters.

Used to main Ein. Can't do that anymore apparently. I picked up Kokoro a bit late in 4, I guess I'll be using her in 5 unless I find someone more suited to my playstyle. Looking at Bayman, Eliot, Hitomi, Rig, and definitely Mila. Akira's also a possibility. I think it'd be pretty sweet if we were getting Vanessa from VF.

You will do fine Aegis. At least you have an idea about who you like. I can't wait for our rematches.
Ein was one of my favorites. It is very sad to see him go. What was your style with him if you don't mind my asking?

Defensive zoning. I pay attention to my spacing and know the exact limits on my reach so I like to sit and wait for my opponent to approach me. I'll either preempt their rush with a lunging punch at max distance or patiently wait out attack strings and punish. I work a long-term mind game with constant resets and baiting them back towards me. It'll usually frustrate my opponent when the momentum is too chopped up and that's when they go into predictable strings that I've taken into account for past rounds. At that point, I'd do educated-guess counters and rush them down for a round. It usually takes them off balance and I'll keep them that way by actively switching defensive and offensive tactics throughout the remaining rounds.

Ein was special because almost every attack I utilized had good priority, good damage, reset the opponent, deceptive range, and decent recovery. I got my damage from singular hits rather than combos which was more of Ein's focus. Ayane wants to do silly flips and spins, :236::P:. Kasumi, same deal. Jan Lee's revving a dragon kick, :4::6: :P:. Spot a grab, :236::P:. Someone's running at me, preemptive :236::P:/:4::6::P:. And just in case you think you're going to counter me on the next run up, :F+K:. It's simple and it doesn't seem to be as effective with anyone else but Ein. And if I wanted to stop playing defensively, he had a decent enough rushdown to induce some form of panic so there was some flexibility there.

I also enjoyed his style. I originally chose him because the first night I played DOA2U, I was scared of being countered or hit by him. He was quick and to the point with his attacks, and the brutality of each hit was emphasized by the result of sending people across the arena and at the wall. And if you stayed against that wall, you were eating a vicious :3::3::F+P:. He frightened me more than any other character and I wanted to make my opponents feel the same way. I don't want them to go "Aww, man. Really?" when I choose my character, I want them to say "Oh shit..."

None of this was very effective in DOA4 though so I lost a ton. I used to have a 70-80% win rate in DOA2U but it dropped to about 43% in DOA4. I couldn't even get past the B+ range. DOA4 revolved around offense too much for my taste, it was like going from Street Fighter to King of Fighters. You couldn't draw games out like you could before and mounting an offense was focused on pure mix-ups. It just shutdown how I played with my character. It would've been cool to have him for 5 now that the pace has moved away from what 4 was.

Kokoro seems to have a lot going for her that happens to work in my favor for what I'm used to getting out of Ein but she plays the stun game which forces me to stay in someone's face a lot more than I'm comfortable with. It's similar to why I can't use Hitomi over Ein, she's more focused on rushing down than playing patient with singular strikes. You can do that with them but it's not as effective. But now that the counters have been toned down, and mix-ups aren't as important as they were in 4, Kokoro might actually be a good fit. I won't be as panicked keeping up stun, worrying that they'll counter the next attack and I'll be screwed before I get any damage in. If she doesn't work though, Bayman seems to have what I'm looking for, albeit with slower attack speed overall, but I'd be willing to get used to it. If Mila plays like Ein though, I'll be ecstatic.

What about you, what are you looking for in a character?

And add me on XBL/PSN. I'd love to go at it when DOA5 drops!

I will still main Ayane and Kasumi! I might look into other characters like Rig and Eliot and might pick back up Lei Fang. Christie, Kokoro, and Helena will probably stay as my [still learning] secondaries.

In DOA4, I mained Tengu and Leon, and sometimes Helena. In DOAD I exclusively used Tengu. Since Tengu and Leon are gone, and Helena is garbage, I have to find new mains. I'm most looking forward to Tina, Bayman, and Brad Wong. I'm also interested in Kokoro, Hitomi, Rig, Eliot, and Sarah. I'll still give Helena a shot too, but I highly doubt that I'll stick with her. I'm also very interested in seeing how Alpha-152 and Mila play. Naturally I will try every character in the game though, and see who clicks.

Those throws were awesome. It'd certainly be a shame to never see them again. I'd also hate to lose his :4::6::F+P::4::F+P::2::F+P::426::F+P: , and to a lesser extent his :3::3::F+P::2::F+P::2::F+P: . I really hope that Mila uses another grapple style. I'd like to see Krav Maga.
I love those moves!

The spacing game is always pretty fun. It was Ein's forte. His 3KKK will be missed.

What am I looking for in a character....hmm. To be honest I have no clue. I'm a jack of all trades master of none. Chances are I will pick a main that helps me develope a skill. Ryu has always been my favorite. The only reason I consider changing is that maybe I will play better or enjoy another character more. My playstyle is akward as I'm sure you remember lol. As soon as I get my Xbl back I will be sure to add you. Gonna be fun!

I used to play Kasumi alot, but when they changed her moveset (in my opinion) too much, I decided to main Christie.
This was when I started to play DOAD online matches..

(there was Troll-face-Kasumi ofc but I felt that she was lacking in some sence, compared to DOA3.1 Kasumi)

ALL DOA6 DOA5 DOA4 DOA3 DOA2U DOAD
