momji needs a buff

Ok, I just messed around with Momiji a bit in training to see if I could understand where people were coming from in regards to her hit stun tenku stuff.

Needless to say, I was netting 84 damage of a red critical stun from her tenku P. Which actually does more damage than her red critical stun 3P when she lands on the floor.

Thing is her 3P is a definite launcher if they low counter out of her tenku.

Yeah I don't get why people are complaining. She has ways around people in her tenku stance. On hit anyway, It's not a move you should be throwing out on block. She doesn't need a new move from the stance cause if they low counter out of tenku you get a free launcher off them anyway!

She has a mid crushing low sweep that can be done from strings or standalone. Guess what Ryu has? 2H+K and 1P2K (which has no mixup and doesn't crush mids). THAT'S IT

Momiji has a blitzkrieg of offensive mix-ups, most of which are safe on block. Seriously dude, dafuq are you talking about?

I wasn't saying it to put you down, but her damage output is already great enough. (If you wanted me to elaborate)
Momiji seems pretty good as she is no sense in buffing a character that already has nice stuff. That's all I'm saying

Just an FYI about the Tenku double jump; If you're using it as a block string, you're using it incorrectly. It does absolutely nothing on block as all of it's options on block can be fuzzy guarded and gets punished for free. Even if she decides NOT to follow up with anything in Tenku, she is getting low thrown (on reaction).

Tenku is most effective on hit and in critical stun.

This character is also very good.

She is actually able to be stunned by a mid that you can't even hold if she does nothing from Tenku. . .kinda silly lol. It only works on block if the opponent is lost and even then she has better gimmicks to abuse than that lol

I've had great success using Momiji. I feel like I'm already playing her at a high level since I can beat and match up against competent players consistently with her. I feel like she is a good character, BUT when people really figure her out and what to do against her mixups(some people already have), then she won't be as bad.


However she does have other tools she can utilize that are pretty solid. The only problem I see is that she may end up like Hayate where she is constantly fishing for stuns. Kinda doubt it though right now, because her you kinda have to respect her and that opens up a lot of throw attempts.

Momiji is all fishing for CH's and throwing to annoy the opponent. With no low presence you have no reason to really duck other than throws. The main problem with figuring out Momiji's real problem is that we play 70% online thus you can get away with a little more with her but for the most part I would say she is definitely a decent character. I messed around more in training mode and now have a better idea of who is really good.

Momiji needs buff? Hell no she just needs some time to flesh out. She has great moves, a decent throw game and great range.

Momiji is complete in this game. I will be highly disappointed in Team Ninja and lose faith in their ability to balance characters if she gets any major changes.
