Only reason I'm not totally sold it's him is that the end of MK9 made it pretty obvious they were setting him up to be the next villain, and yet here Ed Boon said that "some people may be surprised."

If it is Shinnok, there isn't a damn person on Earth who should be surprised after the end of MK9's story.

Assuming new sub zero is the original unwraithed by the soulnado.

If cast is still zombified they can just be unzombified as they were, keeping them as young fighters 25 years later. Couple this with the fact that survivors are ageless outworlders, and only cast members affected by skip are johnny and Sonia. Though cyber zero had to have rusted or become obsolete by now.

Where's the rest of the 4-Armageddon cast like nitara?

Oh, so the X in MKX wasn't a Roman numeral, but a variable like another game we used to know.

I hope Nitara, Li Mei, Ashrah and Sareena have a slot (or at least a new successor). It really wouldn't be a surprise if Shinnok is on the roster. Same can be said for Shujinko.
