Kinda crazy, that of the 31 new bonus costumes (just counted them, thanks for the link Kronin) just two are for the male characters. That's today's DOA for you. DOA6 will probably have no men anymore. ;)
DOA: Harem Edition the only male character is Eliot xD
And the new mode is a visual novel style where you get to choose a route for every female xD
That would be my nightmare lol

Actually Tyaren the totality of bonus outfits is 34:
  • 18 Swimsuits from the Soft-Sexy pack;
  • 4 Ninja2015 outfits;
  • 8 recolored outfits from the Showstoppers Encore pack;
  • 4 Extra swimsuits for the first JPN print copies of LR;
By the way yes, it's a shame that only 2 of them are for the male characters. But to be fair we have to say that at least are present two guys, together with the fact that this time not all the ones dedicated to the female characters are only swimsuits: not something drastical but it's always a slighty improvement from the promotional outfits from the previous games of the DoA5 series (with exception of the "Teams Idol pack").

I think new DLC costumes in Last Round will start including the males. The last two packs included at least 2 male characters, so the trend is likely to continue.

I hope this too, maybe they'll throw a bone at me and put Ryu in the cute sweaters pack to get my dream Casuabusa!
But mostly, I hope for more legacy costumes! Because Christie needs the trenchcoat, and not Kasumi/Ayane need more old outfits.

Thanks for sorting it out, although I never heard of this 18 costume bikini DLC. Is that a Japan thing? I thought they split the bikinis into a bunch of packs.

What should I say...? I can transfer NONE of my DLC costumes to Last Round for PS4. :/ DLC worth hundreds of € stuck with Ultimate for Xbox360. ;o;

Sony should imho really present me with all the DLC, since I ditched Microsoft for Sony after being a loyal Xbox owner for the last two console generations. >.>
I'm sorry to hear that. I agree 100%; you deserve a Sony hug. Or a Koei hug. Maybe they will figure something out.

But on the plus side... me and you, buddy! We get to play together now. YAAAY!

That's frickin' awesome. If you have any favorite DLC that you don't want to purchase again just have me wear them and record the replay. It's not much but it's the cheapest way I see you having your cake and eating it too.

It makes me wonder about PC players as well. The main reasons I'm staying on consoles are because 1) I just prefer playing fighting games on pad on a console and 2) all my DLC transfers over from PS3 to PS4. But PC players...will they have to buy DLC from Ultimate that didn't make into Last Round as in-game costume unlocks?

... How to put this delicately... the thing with PC is... okay... sure they could forgo supporting us (PC gamers). However, I'm sure that TN knows there are other methods to obtain previously bought DLC, specifically for PC gamers. Several, more accessible and ethically questionable methods *wink*

It's been my experience that steam DLC is a bit cheaper than the console iterations. So I foresee some discounted packs. If not...I'm not saying I will partake in these methods but I know there are many who will if they don't make the transition easier for people who are switching platforms to PC.

Answering and replying to your points:
  1. You can play pad on PC.
  2. Fair point, I would do that too, if I was allowed a PS4/XBO (I have bought DLC on Xbox 360 and PS3)
  3. I'm not sure, not one bit. It would only make sense for TN to have LR for PC a "Definitive Edition" with more free content than the current gen consoles, because it's DOA's very first experience on PC. Doing something like that wins sales. Like, since I've pre-ordered it already for Steam, I would like to see some DLC packs like the Casual, Legacy and Halloween 2013 packs to come free in the game on PC (Forget the swimsuits, really). If this is not the case, Day-1 paid DLC is going to be a PROBLEM with DOA5:LR. TN shouldn't do it, unless it goes on sale like USFIV did, where all previous game DLCs are reduced by 50-80% for about 2 weeks, before going back to normal. Besides, it's Steam, right? There's not much TN can do with that. Transferring from PSN could work, and the Xbox cloud could possibly be able to transfer my save files to a Windows computer. But it's a very difficult business plan, really.

In Japan the swimsuits are an exclusive of the 2 collector's edtions for the game: in the West, not being any CE marketed, the pre-orders are just an alternative way to release to the players part of that content at the release of the game. Basically the different pre-orders packs are something exclusively thought for the West.

It's not a situation much different from the first swimsuit pack released with DoA5U (included in the Japanese CE and released on the JPN market after three months while available on the Western market since the release of the game).

I don't know what retailer to preorder from. Honestly, I think Steam will have the best preorder bonuses at this point. I want to preorder from a retailer that has a costume for Ayane at least. That's why I'm hesitant on preordering from Best Buy, despite the fact they do provide free shipping.
