When you look back at it, Bob didn't seem as different as something like Lars and Alisa, who were like characters from a completely different game when they first came out. Imagine putting a Tekken character in VF.

You're talking about character styles, now, rather than character strengths. Just because a character is different, it doesn't mean that character is necessarily strong or tough to deal with (outside of a bad matchup for your own character). Early complaints about Bob were legit. Any early complaints about Alisa and Lars would've just been nitpicking ... like anyone complaining about unblockables, 10-hit strings, Yoshimitsu's sword, D.Jin's lazer beemz (pew pew!), etc.

There will always be people who will complain about something that seems an inconvenience to them. Some people dislike having to learn new stuff because they dislike having to make the effort to do so. This happens everywhere. The best players just simply get on the grind, and learn what they need to know in order to compete and win.

Okay, I get what you're saying; people all adapt to new things eventually and we should stop bitching even if characters look retarded or else the player is a scrub/tier whore/hates change, etc. People all learn to adapt anyway, even the casuals do.

I don't think people complain about the points you brought up, it's usually the little things like the frame and space advantage certain characters get and how much of a contrast they are compared to the rest of the cast.

I dunno. 3 would be ideal if all 3 had distinct styles (from the rest of the cast) and they aren't ninja's. : ) We have enough of those.

1 new character is more than enough. We don't need to over saturate the roster and skew with the balance of the game. I don't see where new characters equals more casual appeal either. I consider myself a fairly hardcore gamer and even I get intimidated by the massive roster in Tekken. Imagine how a casual player would feel?

ONE!? Hm...not sure about that....I'd rather have at least two like UncleKitchener suggested for me to consider buying it. I doubt casual Tekken fans are intimidated by how large the roster has become. I always thought it was one of many reasons why Tekken is still successful.

Just bring Tengu and the others back without tying them to the story mode and just add one new character. That is what I hope TN is doing but sometimes they tend to go out of their way.
