Damn.. So it added more stuff but still ended up making it worse..? Wow..

Ouch, I can't really see how that could be possible x_x
Seeing how I'm unable to play Black these days since my Xbox has been on the fritz for years and it's not compatible with the 360, I'm afraid I'll have to miss out on that gem. Thank God my Shenmue II is compatible with the 360 <3

its not worse, i never experienced loading problems in the time i have played ngs

maybe cuz I installed it to my HDD

and the ninpo's aren't nowhere near gimmicky because they are the same as ngb with just upgraded graphics..

Graphics aside Ninja Gaiden 3 was a huge disappointment. Ninja Gaiden Sigma still remains my favorite. (I didn't like that they removed the roll in Sigma 2.)

Ah well. So long as I get to play Ninja Gaiden again, I'm picking up Sigma eventually. In the meantime I'm just blowing through other games that are eating up my time. *points at Ken's Rage 2 and Crash Bandicoot Warped*

You have to shake the controller to power up Ninpo. That's called a 'gimmicky' in my book.

I think I can cope with that gimmick considering how much of a No More Heroes fanatic I am. Pretty awkward design decision for a NG game though :/

I've been wondering. I've only grew up playing regular Ninja Gaiden for the Xbox, then moved onto NG2 and NGS2 a few years later. Which means I've pretty much played nearly every version but Black. So what's the difference between Sigma 1 and NGB?

A big difference was also the introduction of three chapters with Rachel playable, anyway here you can find all the info about: http://ninjagaiden.wikia.com/wiki/Ninja_Gaiden_Sigma

In these days I'm playing Ninja Gaiden Black (normal difficulty for now) and it's fun like I remember it :)

EDIT: I love No More Heroes!

Don't forget Sigma also forces you to constantly switch to segments where you have to play as Rachel. They also added stange/annoying new enemies like some weird misty floating things in place of ghost fish and those obnoxious motorcyle things. They also altered certain aspects of the soundtrack, putting in some lackluster music. For example, Forsaken Humanity no longer plays during the Alma boss fight.

They didn't replace the ghost fish ;o

I just played through it

In some areas they did. For example, in the chasm below the altar (right before and after the boulder run). In NG: Black starting on Hard there are ghost fish there. In Sigma, they were replaced with the mist.
IIRC in the labyrinth and the tower descent/ascent they still have ghost fish in Sigma, but in other areas they were swapped out.

Now that's such a huge disappointment, but none bigger than the alternate track that plays in place of the final boss fight. I came across the Sigma version of the final boss fight on YT and facepalmed. Not sure why they wanted to replace tracks, so that's something I'll never understand :/

I forgot about that. "Into the Distance" is one of my favorite tracks off the Ninja Gaiden OST. Replacing it was just delusional.

Man i used to be such a badass at ng1 lol

Its funny how I can go beat ng2 story without using any items at all but keep dieing at chapter 1 on ng1 lol

goes to show how much harder ng1 is compared to ng2

hopefully ill get back my ng1 mojo in a few days

NG2 is much harder than NG1 on MN, imo.

lol really?

NG2 is super easy for me on MN

Then you're immune to vast amounts of unfair enemies, awful frame rate and redundant bosses.

NG2 is a much harder game than NG1, and it's not because NG2 is a better game -- it's because things aren't as balanced. In NG1 you had the opportunity to learn from your mistakes, NG2 mixes that with luck which makes it a harder game combined with its mechanical and technical issues..

I'm not saying NG2 is a bad game either, NG1 is just a lot better and is in a league of its own. NG2 never really stood a real chance to begin with.
