The digital copy may run better. It may also be something that can be patched. Either way, it's NGS2 in portable form and it's pretty fun. If you went into this expecting to get a deadly serious Ninja Gaiden game that you can put in a sleep state at random and play anywhere, you might need to re-evaluate your priorities. It's a perfectly playable game and I'm enjoying it at face value as a portable version of a game I really enjoy.

Dead or Alive 5+ will be a different story, though, since it's a fighting game and needs to run at 60fps to be enjoyable.

I expecteced the game not be a broken mess out the box, being the 3rd time it has been remade and coming off the visually impressive and responsive Sigma 1, this game is in such a pitiful state that I wouldn't be surprised if it was recalled. It's that bad. I will not opening up my copy of DOA5+ until some deep first impression. Oh well here's hoping NG3:RE is better than this trite.

You're welcome to your opinion. I found it to be just as playable as the original 360 version uninstalled with faster loading. I'm not running into the crippling slowdown you apparently are, though I do notice it dip during battles.

The framerate issues only seem to crop up when you de-limb an enemy which is a bit odd. It's not because of the gore either since I went back on the first level to compare with it off. A patch would be nice but I'm enjoying it for what it is.

I'll probably jump back in when it's $10 or something, but the entire game felt like bad online play and it shouldn't feel like that, epsecially when the framerate is already as low as it is.

Achievements...it'd be hard to explain why I find them more compelling than trophies because they're very similar. Let's just say they came first and I prefer a number to a level and a bar. That'll work.

As for NG4 I'm all for it. Just needs to be done properly.
It's the sound effect lol

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one who seems to be enjoying the new Vita port. I never bought my Vita thinking that it was a portable PS3. Likewise, I never bought NGS2+ thinking it would be something groundbreaking. Maybe my standards are just way lower than most people, but this is the most fun I've had on my Vita in almost a year.

My standards are very high; just not for a portable game. The game is very good looking on the Vita screen too and it appears they used the cutscenes from the 360 game which I appreciate. I would love the framerate locked at 30fps or even 60fps, but I'll take the quality of visuals we're getting here. If slowdown causes me to miss a string or get hit by something, I just think back on the 360 epic stairs (you missed out bingsoo) and smile.

Try to catch a vid of someone running to the top, then back down and tossing a Piercing Void straight up the stairs lol. It's fucking insane. If you can't find any good vids I might go and cap that but I'm not sure I still have my save.

Lol, sounds fun. I'll look for that.

Playing NGS2+ makes me look forward to RE so much more.. can't wait to play coop with some of you guys..
NG3 did have online coop, right?

It did. The later missions were very poorly designed though. Actually worse than Sigma 2's. Instead of raising the difficulty by interesting and fun means, we fight 5 Regents of the Mask or 7 Genshins with some Fiend Genshin thrown in for fun. Seriously busted and in the later ones the game would sometimes de-sync so you'd be fighting enemies your partner couldn't see and vice versa.

Obviously hoping for some improvement there, lol.

Fuck you. Pick a name and stick with it, you schizo. I don't see any compelling reason to wait for anything, either.

I finished the first and second tag missions with and without gore.
With gore they were unplayable, the framerate was really, really bad.
Without gore (you get the purple mist) they were fine at best.

Story mode (first 2 chapters) is also like tag missions with/without gore but with better performance.

Dynamic resolution is annoying and it becomes really bad for few seconds sometimes.

I'm having fun but I was hoping for something near NGS+ in performance.

Any news about Japanese voices ?

Those stairs lol. Scythe UT, may as well call it Bowling for Ninjas.

I was mad when they took that out of NGS2. One of the only things I liked about the single player of NG2 lol.

DAMN. Lol CE I see why you smiled thinking about that now. But damn... that looks fun sans the frame rate. And that gore...

EDIT: Ok, I pretty much played NGS2+ all night and was quite elated to find that they retained the lovely UN01, 02, 03 missions from NGS2.

So much for that Platinum..
