I was so devoted to finding the whip when the game came out There was a box that Rachel couldn't get to in her second chapter. It's where Ryu had to grab the rope and climb across and you see the clock tower in the background. I was sure the whip was there but I tried everything to get to it. I even got her to the upper part of the library at the end of her first chapter (right above where the end chapter cutscene starts) but there was nothing there. Alma = Niccae and Rachel = Ishatoros. It seemed like Rachel was destined to have a whip but where the hell was it

Personally, I think Xbox Ninja Gaiden II on Master Ninja is far more difficult than Master Ninja mode in Ninja Gaiden: Black. Black is typically fair, in that if you're good at the game's core mechanics you can get through it conceivably with no damage. NGII often relies on luck, with framerate drops, atrocious camera issues, very strange Tests of Valor, some stupid AI (which can actually make it harder since spamming is more effective for you and enemies in NGII with the ramped-up number of attacks that provide i-frames), etc.
Of course, part of that may be based on the fact I never used healing items until Chapter 7. Still, I feel like MN on NGII requires both abuse of i-frames and prayer the game permits you to do them. The "unpredictable AI" in NG: Black is actually not that unpredictable, and if you're smart and fast most enemy attacks can be retaliated (blocked, dodged, intercepted) on reaction. In NGII, the camera, increased enemy speed/count, obsession with all attacks giving i-frames and the unholy obsession with explosives makes things much harder to react to.

Furthering my opinion, I feel than Sigma 1 is a great (no, amazing!) game, but only because of what it took (nearly everything) from NG: Black. Almost every change/addition made to/for Sigma from Black was for the worse. I could list 'em off, but to save time I'll just say there's no doubt in my mind Black is the best Ninja Gaiden game.

I actually found II to be easier to me, maybe because UTs were a big part of my strategy and they charged a lot slower in Black. Plus you got a lot of essence to buy healing in II.

In black its more open so you can get hurt by respawning enemies and such, while II is linear so you wont run into that. And save points dont heal you in Black.

I do agree that Black was more functionally sound with less glitches and such, but I just love the fast paced chaos in II too much.

Just a heads up, the NG3 Collector's Edition is $39.99 at Gamestop. Might be in store only and I don't feel like going all the way over to the site myself to check, but if you're looking for a sweet action figure diorama thing, cool artbook, decent soundtrack disc, and a coaster, it's not a bad price. My local store had two of them just sitting there.

And then with all that you get a free game disc you probably won't enjoy using at all!

Still, the price is good for the CE stuff alone.

Well a friend let me borrow his Wii U with NG3.

I'm playing the hell outta it with Kasumi and Ayane. A lot of annoyances of NG3 regular were addressed, but if you saw no redeeming factors in 3 like I did then this will probably fall on deaf ears.

I have some up on the leaderboards but that should be doable. We need another great Ninja Gaiden game for me to cap haha. We can get some coop in on Sigma 2 + as well if the net code isn't terrible.

I'm not sure where to look for the videos on the leaderboards. Sorry if I'm nagging but most of the NG videos on youtube are pretty bad in terms of gameplay. And it would be awesome to coop but I'm pretty garbage at the game lol

You don't need to be amazing to just get some matches in. The new team is not interested in actual difficulty so a lot of the challenges are needlessly frustrating due to poor design. I won't bother with them if that happens again, but I am a fan of just getting games in with other Ninja Gaiden fans. As for the leaderboards, I'm not sure how it works either. I think on NG2 (360) you had to click the left thumbstick over my name or something.

Not sure about NG3. I didn't end up capping anything for that game but you could read my achievement guide on xbox360achievements.org and get an idea of how I play. I wrote quite a bit on Master Ninja and various tips until TN revealed the ridiculous pricing schemes for the DLC and I dropped the game. My guide for the achievements as well as the MN difficulty tips guide were pretty much content complete, though.

Here's the link to the forum index for the game: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=1921

You'll have to dig for the MN thread, though. Only my guide was stickied.

So I know sigma2+ is bringing back the blood and stuff, but is it bringing back any of the other stuff it cut from 2? Such as the windmill shuriken, Incendiary kunai, bow UT? Also the enemy count, chapter 11 was disappointing in sigma, so was the staircase of ninjas.

Let's not forget the giant tunnelworm I was looking forward to fighting again in NGS2 only to see it's not there 9_6

Just pre-ordered Sigma 2+ :). I wonder if they are going to make a 3+ or Sigma 3. I'd rather they just start on 4 or something considering how the current versions turned out.

http://gematsu.com/2013/02/ninja-gaiden-3-razors-edge-confirmed-for-ps3-xbox-360

In case there was any doubt surrounding this morning’s Rakuten leak, Famitsu this week confirms Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge is coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on April 4 in Japan, making the jump to multiplatform from its former Wii U exclusivity.
The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions will have a new challenge called “Ninja Trials,” which will consist of 25 missions. New costumes are also being prepared. It will also include the Ayane, Momiji, and Kasumi playable characters released as free download content for the Wii U version.
