Ninja Gaiden Thread

That's tempting. Especially since it was so well-received by everyone.

What are your thoughts so far on Hayashi and post-Itagaki TN?

Not really the thread for that haha. To keep it short, I have a lot of faith in the team in general and they've done a lot to convince fans that they're going to do right by us. Hayashi gets a lot of blame for perceived issues and I think it's more than a little unfair. They've made some mistakes early on after the change but have steadily gotten better and the team is MUCH more open to fan feedback and discussion.

Now, Ninja Gaiden...

Ah, I see.

I think I may save up for a 3DS and NG:DS. What I've seen in playthroughs seems too good for just idle watching. That, and RE has me curious about Momiji's story. Also, there seem to be a lot of decent games for that system.

Dragon Sword is one of the best handheld games I've ever played. Good graphics for the platform, fun gameplay, decent amount of replayability, and playable Momiji if you unlock her, though she's just a Ryu clone in that game. The story bits are really well done.

Awesome. Thanks for the response. I think I'm sold.

You know I think my favorite part about dragon sword was the music. They took the best music from black and sigma, and put it in the game, also some of ng2s best music came from dragon sword, like the zedonius theme and underworld theme. The credits theme was great as well.

And I really liked the art in the game as well, hope to see more of it in future titles.

Oh and I liked momijis design the most in it, before she got the breast upgrade, was nice to see a modest team ninja female char for once.

I know. Even her outfit looks practical instead of "sexual."
It's why I always use the white costume in NG3. That and it just looks totally awesome.

Yeah but even the white costume got altered in later releases

You notice the difference? Her headband is less prominent, her neckerchief is smaller, she got heels added to her boots for some reason, plus there are gaping holes where her thighs are, plus her mask is gone. It's still a good outfit, but I prefer the original.

is it sad that the original xbox ninja gaiden had better looking graphics for its cutscenes than the newer ones?seriously NG's CGI kicks ass and i would kill to have an NG movie using it,

or DOA either way works

Well, they were using pre-rendered cutscenes for those. Personally, I don't like that method as much. They get too obsessed with strange lighting and shaky cams so I can't see what's going on, and if I change costumes it won't change in the cutscene with me.

That said, NG3's cutscenes are typically very boring. There are only two I can recall really enjoying. I preferred NG2's system.

I have to disagree. The strange lighting and the overall tone of those pre-rendered cut scenes kinda became a real Team Ninja staple. The whole story and important events of Ninja Gaiden came together beautifully in the CGI. I'm not sure I understand the shaky cam bit.

After a hard level, I looked FORWARD to a decent payout via CGI. I played FFX for the CGI.

There was also no talking in the CGI. I think the story is better told through a narrator at the beginning, with CGI and little dialogue bits peppered throughout. A real production with a signature look.

Ninja gaiden was the first game to make me wonder if I was watching CGI or real life at times,FF also did CGI very well but because of its animeish qualities it never had the same impact.to put this in perspective it wasn't until Halo 4 that I felt that way again.

decided to pop in NG2 this time and i got an update for it...yeah this game is lagging horribly now it seems.

Ok, I'm kinda stuck in this game. I killed Duoku and I'm with Ryu again. I just killed those red dragons/demons and now I have to pass a trap of fireflamers that leads into a lava cliff. What the hell do I have to do now?

What game are you playing?

It sounds like you're in the third last level of Ninja Gaiden 2, but Doku is not in Ninja Gaiden 2. Unless you mean Marbus (who is only in Sigma 2).
Anyway, if you're at the part I think you're at, jump off the cliff at the far end (past the save statue) and you'll fall into a lava pit where you get to fight Zedonius for a second time.

Oh, this is for NG & NG2. My bad.
I'm playing NGS. Now swap "flameflamers" (redundant) for "flamethrowers".
Better now?
Thank you.

Ah. Then I believe you're in the magma caverns on that jumping puzzle. There's a floor button back at the entrance to the room. Slam the floor button back at the start, and that will disable the wall of flame for a few seconds. Quickly make your way over and jump across the gap before the flames resume.

If it's a different part you're at, I apologize. The magma caverns are full of flames, lava and cliffs so specific room descriptions are hard to make out, haha.
