I wouldn't be surprised if the next DOA is developed by a team that isn't Team Ninja.
I mean Ninja Gaiden 4, of all of TNs IPs, is being outsourced to Platinum Games. We already know Koei Tecmo hates Team Ninja so that alone spells some kind of gloom for whatever comes next. I talked with Mr. Wah a couple weeks ago and we both agreed that being outsourced is probably going to be what happens.
It's really depressing.
All things considered I would prefer a new DOA to no DOA at all, but it's a tough decision and a tough call because an outsourced DOA could be good just as
NINJA Gaiden 4 already looks twice as good as NG3 while using early footage and with no final build as of yet.
Team NINJA (as most of us know) are supervising NG4 probably to make sure the unique intricacies of the game are in place and if the same is done for DOA in the case of an outsource, things could go smoother than the majority would expect.
If Team NINJA wanted to keep their name on things for now, they could do a UE5 wrap of a previous installment to see where things go. After all
NINJA Gaiden 2 Black might be a remaster, but they still put their name on the game and headed the project.
They also announced DOA6 figures for Marie Rose and Honoka on their latest DOAXVV stream, this is the first time (to my knowledge), that they have brought up DOA6 since the continuation. We all know the DOA6 sales and the NA Twitter accounts recognizing birthdays, but to hear something from Japan is uncommon.
I think the smart choice would be to UE5 wrap DOAD if they want to continue with their vision of the franchise. That's kind of a possible fantasy IMO. The more likely is a DOA6+ or an outsourced DOA7.
