I don't really give a shit if someone beats me online because online is too retarded to take seriously, but if someone sent me a message like that after a laggy shitfest of a match, I'd want to take a bat to their fucking head. It's stuff like this why I can't stand most fighting games online and play almost entirely offline. The arrogant shitheads that have no idea how the game is really played acting like they're actually worth something to the community. I can't describe how much of an insult a comment like that is to someone that actually puts forth a genuine effort to support a game that deserves ALOT more support than it receives, from some jackass that only mashes online.
Also, players are pretty delusional on PSN too.
Other than that, I just LOL at 95% of the shit that happens online in 5U. It seriously needs VF5FS's netcode.
Yup, in the DOA community, the online side (not everyone, just the assholes that pretend to be more than they actually are. And you guys know I can name off a big list, but I'm not going to get into that) believe their online mashing and online tactics amount to anything.
I've spent months (hell, a full year since DOA5 Vanilla) of my own time helping players learn this character, and the game. Making countless contributions to this character forum, to the community (online, in person, on the forums), and grew an offline scene in my state. Giving up certain things I've enjoyed just to support this game at tournament majors (SCR/NCR2013), and help promote the game at offline venues and other events (1337LoungeLive/SuperArcade/Level Up Series) in order to get the game exposure. And was successful at doing that.
I've made a character guide for DOA5, then revised it to fit DOA5U and it's current title updates for upcoming and aspiring players wanting to learn Ayane. I've made a combo video with Adon, that is still high in popularity and views (and still receives likes and comments). I've been devoting so much time to this game, to get myself up to speed and on par with the tournament competition. To surpass my past self, to turn every failure and mistake into a success, small and large.
I have played a lot of people in this game, and every single player I've played that has felt the need to bring themselves down after our set, I've said words to encourage them (even those that have turned on me and become traitorous assholes afterward over basically nothing). I've always
willingly and voluntarily helped people in this community.
I've gained much acceptance and recognition. But as you can see, we have people here that don't do shit, not a damn thing, but sit on the forums all day long doing absolutely nothing but posting status updates because they want attention. They want to publicize themselves out aloud so they can be heard, and in turn, think they are popular and well-respected for it. This does not earn you respect in the fighting game community. That is not how you support your community, and disrespecting those that do support, only makes you look terrible as a member of the community, and an individual.
The exact same thing goes for those who take the online play seriously and boast themselves for it (playing online is just fine, but we all know there are tons of players in the community that they think they are more than they actually are and grow an ego from it. We've seen this time and time again). So instead of people wanting to support their community in a way that would actually bring our game into the limelight, where it matters. They want to find a reason(s), and I mean anything at all, to make someone else that does a lot, look like a bad guy.
Because they are jealous, they are envious, they cannot stand the fact that someone else is out there doing what they choose not to do. They want to be spoonfed recognition, rather than work for it, to earn it. They do not wish to make efforts to support their game in ways that can bring it up to new heights, to give it exposure, to give themselves offline exposure, to bring actual unity into our community.
It's as if no one wants to see anyone else have any kind of success in their community, they just want to spend their time playing online and looking for a reason to ignite conflicts, instigate drama and hate among each other.
But here's the thing, they do not realize something, they do not realize that their behavior is part of what drives a lot more people away from us. They do not realize that their choices are only making them look horrid, foolish, stupid, immature, and very low, and low level.
You see, for a long time, I've never accepted this until recently (about two months ago), but this is a fact, I have fans. I have fans that admire my dedication to this game and Ayane. And there are a lot of them, people I know, my family, my own friends, people I've never met, strangers really. I've gotten tons of random PMs here, messages on Youtube, PSN, even on Facebook, that they admire me as an Ayane player. They think my Ayane is amazing, and rightly so.
The shitheads, assholes, douchebags, and attention whores (and everything combined), they'll be disrespectful. Because they have nothing better to do with their time and they aren't ever going to do anything I'm doing and that I've done anyway. They've made it clear that they want to be what they are, which is absolutely nothing, so let them be pettiful and pitiful. Haters gonna hate.
And at end of the day, I have to learn to ignore the bullshit and focus on everything else that matters. I've done a lot, I've leveled up a lot, and I will continue to do so. I know who I am and what I am, that's all that matters. Stay positive and keep the negative outside the door.
