If Tag became a tournament standard I'd play the game.

Hell, I'd play the game if I could find a game of Tag online.

It's not so much a shift to the Tag mode as a standard.

What I think needs to be done is start bringing back 1v1 Tag Side Tournies, see how it grows. So at a tournament you could have 1v1 Singles and a 1v1 Tag tourney. I'd expect early on the Singles would far outweigh the entrants to tag. Maybe if it does get big enough and the experience of Tag grows on people then the 2v2 Pair Play tournies might start up.

At least they don't make you go out and buy a whole nother game disc just to do tag... unlike some game franchises.

What I do find ironic is people asking for long combos and guaranteed damage, now that it has been implemented in what honestly has been a viable competitive version of the game for over a decade, people are like "WTF?! That's too much damage off one guess!".

im for keeping tag as a side tourney. We already have a hard time feeling singles and moving to tag would hurt more. People who want to play a tag style game are already playing TTT2. We dont need to split the community any more

I'd honestly be down for picking up Tag, even though I fell out of it since DOA3. I haven't liked Tag for a long while and am really only used to singles. But I wouldn't mind picking up another part of the game. Trying to get out and support the game when I really can and I don't playing both sides of the game to support it.

So, if we have 1v1 tag tournaments as the standard what's the point of singles? We'd be playing TTT pretty much... just you know... a more broken version since it's not patched. I mean if you guys are all up for 1v1 tag tournaments, wouldn't it be easier to just play TTT2?

And worth less money. Let's not forget that part.

Every fighting game is broken with that mentality, step your game up. 1v1 isn't going to be replaced, but it should take as much spot light. I will travel for DOA5 tag, it's a legit fighting game.

I"m not even going to argue with you, as you don't seem to even realize anything but keep thinking tag mode is legit and singles isn't. I"ll just keep laughing.

I never said singles wasn't, I just said DOA5 tag is the superior/traditional fighter. You can keep laughing, but that's only because your mentality is broken.

My mentality is broken? I guess so, since you know apparently the factors in tag mode hold no merit to whether it'll be balanced or not but keep talking.

Yes, you have no idea what DOA or balanced really means. You throw around terms like broken with no regard to actually learning it, we're guilty of it on some level though.

Except this doesn't have TTT2's round system where you lose a round after losing 1 character. This alone makes it so that it's impossible to do more than 50% damage of total life, meaning that long extended combos are just fine. Heck, this isn't even like Marvel where you can do a mixup to guarantee a hit on an incoming character after a KO.

Also, there are times when an "unpatched" game with something glitched is superior to the later patched version. Case in point SF3 3rd Strike rev. 990512 which had unblockables for Urien is considered superior to rev. 990608 which took that (and a few other glitches) out. It came to the point that when Capcom rereleased the game, they used the former with the unblockables.

Same with Capcom vs SNK 2 and Capcom vs SNK 2 EO. The latter took out the roll cancel glitch that made it possible to make almost every move invincible. The simply community ignored that and kept playing the version (PS2/DC) that had roll cancels.

Tag mode has more guaranteed damage. That pretty much makes it more legit in the FGC's book.
