I respect what pupi18 saying. but I bet seeing Ryu or Lara in the game will change his mind.:D Nah, I respect his POV.

Anyways, I can't wait to get this game. It will be the third game, I'll be taking serious.

So a game comes out that fixes most, if not all, of the FGC's issues with Smash (outside of the community stuff) and people still hate on it.

No matter what a game does, or how good a game may be, there will always be someone to hate on it. CONFIRMED.

You discovered that people have different opinions! Congratulations!

No need for snide comments.

What I posted was a general statement, not making particular reference to any one person. And should not be taken personally.

In other news...GO...what do you think about the game getting pass back?

Pushed back, you mean? It's all good as long as it's for further fine-tuning and balancing in the game. Who knows, the delay might've also been done to better accommodate some late additions to the roster (like the rumored Crash Bandicoot).

So what if Sony characters aren't as "interesting" as Nintendo characters. The fact this game is being made, if NOTHING else, is gonna put Smash on blast to where it has to step its game up due to its genre no longer being FREE.

So if someone prefers Smash over this game, then you should still hope this game sees at least moderate success, because then you'll likely see a better Smash game in the future. And if this game ends up being good and seeing some pretty good success, then all the better! This really is a WIN/WIN situation for gamers!

I really don't think this game is going to be a threat to smash even if it was successful. It would have to have a big impact in gameplay to give smash a reason to make big changes in gameplay. Also nintendo already having there popular characters. To me this is like the PSP when it came out trying to compete with the DS.

Well shadow there is a difference. Smash is popular because it's everyone favorite characters. But the game itself suffers from some serious balance issues. Even though melee was good, only 8 characters were usable at a high level.

Plus, you gotta figure if this game gets picked up by tourney players, that will only help to popularize the game as a whole. So far, tourney players have been playing Smash because there's really been nothing else to play in this particular genre. With a new contender to the field (and one with known FGC members involved with development), the picture can change VERY quickly, as Smash (particularly Brawl) has some well documented annoyances when it comes to competitive play.

This isn't JUST about popularity of characters.

Yeah he's right. Smash players want nintedno to listen to them, but nintedno and Sakurai could give two shits what they think. Sony actually gives a fuck about them. That is a key difference that should be noted.

The game is being made by EVO organizers and competitors and is being given a big push by the former. Come July next year, there's a bigger chance of this game making the main stage over something made by someone who hates competitive play.
