How do you guys think they'll bring the old characters back? Do you think they'll continue from SCV by find a way to put them back in, or, as possibly hinted in Lost Swords, use Astral Chaos to bring the series back to the original setting?
In the text passage in LS, they specifically said that shards of both swords were scattered throughout space and time after they were destroyed, hence why fighters from both times are present. They also said the stage was set at the end of the 16th century, which was the setting of the series from SB to SCIV. It sounds like a pretty good way to bring the old characters back without having to come up with some contrived excuse for why they didn't age. I say set SCVI after IV, with some characters from V returning (most likely Pyrrha and Z.W.E.I., and maybe Natsu and Viola). Maybe have VI take place 2-3 years after IV, allow some of the characters to age and time to pass after Nightmare was defeated (after all, it'd be weird for no characters to have a single birthday in that long chain of events). I think that sounds pretty good to me.
Yeah, but I feel like it wouldn't have been as good as some people think. Patroklos would still be there, and be as shitty as ever. Not to mention the new characters...It wasn't really SC's fault regarding the fifth story mode, if they had the resources and weren't rushed due to TTT2, the story would have been much more massive and stuff. SC lost sword's story scenarios were good but lacked depth, like it was basically fighting random enemies over and over and no one really significant which made sense, it was like a watered down version of SC2's Weapon Master mode imo, just less fun.
There's a possibility she could have appeared, the wiki and story says that Leixa, Natsu, and Xiba were on a type of journey to the west to find Kilik I think and Taki is said to be watching Natsu in the shadows...she probably wouldn't have been clad in those tight pink spandex, but she'd probably look the same, Hilde is 35 in SC5 and she aged very well, she just has shorter hair and a more mature face.Yeah, but I feel like it wouldn't have been as good as some people think. Still, I wonder what the full extent of the story would've been. Since the story was supposed to be 4x bigger, than that would've made it roughly eight hours long (which is pretty big for a fighting game), and it would've likely used cutscenes as opposed to those storyboards (which was done because they didn't have enough time to render the whole thing). That would've definitely been better. What I wonder is, though Taki wouldn't be playable, would she have made a story appearance? That's something I wonder, because who knows what she would've looked like.
Looks like she might get a flashback fight in her story.Even before Daishi and Tago left, apparently they had planned to bring Taki back as a fighter down the line (Tago specifically stated she would return "eventually"). Her story is that she had heard that Toki had once again emerged after his supposed death, and she left to pursue him. I imagine that they were setting it up for the sequel where Taki would return. I'm imagining they would've found a way to de-age her due to the "no women over 35 rule".
