Smash Wii U has a brand new stage. It is called "Gamer", which is a minigame from Game & Wario.
In the minigame, 9-Volt was sent to bed by his mother. In between, he has to beat a game overnight with out getting caught. If you get caught by your mother, run low on batteries, lose in a WarioWare game, or pretend to fall asleep for too long (which turns into actually sleeping), you lose the game.
On Smash U, you have to hide in the shade. If you get caught by 9-Volt's mother, prepare to get scolded and blown away. In other words, don't get caught while fighting!

I hope it plays that horror-style music when mother is approaching. Sounds like a fun stage.

Marth will always be my top main and from what I've heard Lucario had some major buffs (I still prefer Mewtwo though).

This stage is gonna be so good lol
Thinking of dropping out of the TFC tournament for this. Reviews (and people with the game) are saying that LOCAL play doesn't hold up well if there are a lot of wireless connections nearby. That's inexcusable if true and I'm not going to play in even a $5 tournament if I could lose due to somebody walking by with a phone. I asked the event organizers for rules but haven't heard back yet. I'll stay in if it's 1 on 1.

I'll be dual-maining Greninja and Yoshi, and will likely have Sonic, Lucario, Dr. Mario, Bowser and Charizard as sub-mains. Haven't played the demo much, but the mechanics feel great and the game is nice and fluid. I really enjoyed playing as Mario in the demo and can't wait to try my mains out with the full game. I do wish that either the blast zones were a bit smaller or that certain characters had worse recovery since it can be difficult to K.O., but I'm sure that we'll adjust when we find better killing methods and long matches can create some nice suspense.

The bundle w/ the gamecube controller will cost $100.
Not gonna lie, the smash ball on the controller alone makes me want to get it. XD The article also talks about how the box art reveals that it will be the first Wii U game to utilize amiibo toys (although I guess this was already known months ago).

Probably an alternate way to pick your character, like how you drop the coin on the portrait now.
Or to be a full skylanders knockoff, probably just to choose characters in the campaign mode.

Well in Nintendo's defense the concept of bringing figures to life to fight in SSB has been around since the original 64 game. I guess when they saw Skylander utilizing that idea irl they jumped on the bandwagon.
