I just hope Jann's original VA (Toshio Furukawa) will return to reprise his role. Nobutoshi Canna's rendition of him in DOA:D had no real "OOMPH" to those yells!
Even if I'm not a Jann's fan, I'm totally with you on that. Jann's VA on Dimensions sucked ass. He just didn't carry that Bruce Lee essence on his yells.

Of course it's not a deal breaker but I appreciate little things like that.

Just a few moments ago, some recent tweets suggest that DOA5 will have an AI Learning System. I haven't heard of this since the Saturn port of Virtua Fighter 2.

Now I'm really excited about this game.

I don't know about "learning" AI but the CPU definitely ramps up the difficulty as you win until you reset the demo again.

Technically, it is learning every time you play it and it changes its behavioural algorithm to predict what you'd do next. The AI keeps track of the strings you use, how you may transition between different things in each round, what mix ups you use and then simply store them in a table or a vector (of whatever dimensions) and just refers to those the next round or later in the same round, while changing its behaviour every time.

The olds had a similar but more simplistic approach in terms of AI behaviour. They mostly tried predicting when to hold your attacks and sometimes ended their stings in lows or throw you when you blocked for a certain amount of time. The difference was that they didn't learn anything new, so if you played them for long enough, you could have predicted their next move, depending on difficulty.

Awesmic made the observation on another forum that the only stages that would have a cliffhangers would be the ones with multiple tiers and seven of those fit the bill based on the leaked info from the demo.

Every multi-tier stage might have cliffhangers? uh...I hope we have "some" just straight up knock offs, stairs or something.

Using big expressions like "game theory" seems kinda funky, if you're talking about a 50/50 situation.

I believe he's referring to the damage such as a throw deals damage to the attacker they would want to do the attack but the defender might know this and decide to block

Yeah, I know. Just seemed like "Oh look, we've found a fancy new expression for guessing!" to me. The cliffhanger would actually make a good example if you'd try to explain the game theory to someone, because it can't get any simpler than that.
