Im pretty sure doa3 is after ng1/black (because ayane is younger in ng,14 I think), dont know about ng2/3 (I have ng2 but dont know sorry).anyways this kind of thing has no logic (u said youre a graphic disigner so u probably know this better than me), they change the models based on whats modern in the present day and ng came out after doa3; anyways I agree with what brute said, they can be a little random/lazy with male characters, "copy/paste, skin tone and done", we see that a lot these days, mass effect for exemple (though mass effect is understandable given the length/diversity of that game)
NG1, 2
DOA1, 2, 3, 4
NG3
DOA5

Heh. They made all 8 bonus characters available in core fighters till the end of October, so I decided to unlock omg mode while i can.

Unlocked it on tinas loss screen, so...

Tina : "Oh my god!"
*OMG mode is now an option!*

And oh my god with Mila on omg mode. She bounced around on her own as it is lol. so much boing.

Did DoA3 by chance take place before Ninja Gaiden? He looks young and lean here.
A now more muscular Hayabusa would make sense in my opinion, after what he's been through in the NG series.
Ninja Gaiden 1/2 are before DOA1 and Ninja Gaiden 3 is between DoA4 and DoA5. (the fact that Hayate is Mugen Tenshin leader and the fact that Ayane is older(17- 18) and already knows Irene seems to suggest this)

Is it just me or did the amount of dojo pickers rise on the PS3 recently? Before everyone I played picked random, but now 2/3 people I face choose dojo.

Edit- I just asked this guy I'm fighting why he picked it (afraid of walls was the answer I already know) and he says "cuz its a fair stage and music is good imo" ... ..

I hate dojo. Its like playing smash bros with items turned off: what's the point when you remove half the game? Stages are half the fun in doa.

Slightly unrelated, but i will say doa5 still has a ways to go before it feels like a doa game. Giving back music and DOA3 stages is a steo in the right direction. Still needs aerosmith intro, more cliffhangers, slope throws, brighter nore vibrant color palette, and sleek blue and silver menus.

Aesthetics play a huge part of doa. Presentation is a big part of Fighting Entertainment.
And doa5 has piss poor presentation.

The amount of people who do these stupid things has risen considerably on PS3 as of late:

- Pick dojo
- Complain you "Grab too much"
- Claim that Hayabusa is cheap and more OP than other ninjas or any other character in the roster
- Complain you use the same set-up too much (and keep falling for it)
- Pick tag mode
- Kick you from the lobby the moment you beat them
- Pick Kokoro
- Complain you're cheap when you pick the same character they're using
- Lag and taunt like they're hot shit
- Fuck their cousin
- Keep attacking after unsafe moves (and able to get away with it at times because of online lag)

These have been issues for the 360 as well. Maybe not the cousin part but I felt like including it anyways. XD

I get the "grab too much"...when I'm barely grabbing at all. While using grapplers.

Some of that other stuff i have nothing against because

A I hate spammers
B I hate ryu port stance spammers since its literally impossible to read
C I will kick people for just spamming crap i dont feel like dealing woth. Kicked a janm lee for doing that stun gunner nonsense over and over amd over. Dont care if they beat me or not but i aint dealing with chickenshit.
D I hate counterpickers and mirror matcjes.

I'm sorry to say this, but this has been irking me for a while, and I never quite understood it. Why is picking Dojo such a big deal, much less considered "something scrubs do"?

Because traditionally the environment has been a huge aspect of the DOA meta-game. It constantly alters your positioning, spacing, attack patterns etc. and skilled players factor it into each match considerably and at all times. By picking Dojo, you're ripping out a huge chunk of the game. It would be like if I could pick a certain stage and eliminate the 3d plane, making it a 2D fighter. It's just stupid.

There was an dojo-picking Alpha player the other day that called the ninjas OP. You actually may have been in the lobby when they said it.

Except, this isn't DOA4. Even with the Dojo intact, DOA5 still has proper evasion (i.e. true sidestepping) and far less moves that track the opponent to warrant it as a 3D fighter.

In DOA4, the effectiveness of sidestepping (at least from 3.1's standpoint) was practically removed in favor of universal offensive holds. Not to mention, virtually every move in the game tracks the opponent, with very, very few exceptions.

NOTE: If I'm barking up the wrong tree of knowledge, forgive me. All I was doing was trying to prove a point on how 2D DOA4 felt when directly compared to DOA5 and 5U.

I think you're confusing my hypothetical analogy with an acute description. What I was trying to illustrate is that walls, cliffs, floor surfaces, danger zones, etc. are an integral part of the game and affect how you act at all times. Eliminating them makes for a chopped down game that's only a shell of its potential.

I'm pressed for time and rest, so I'll acknowledge your good point and follow up on Skype tomorrow.
