Dunno about the second one but I do agree it should be a guy. This game is very smiley and warm for a figher I find hah. The only characters I don't see smiling are Jann Lee, Alpha, Hayabusa, and GenFu. I don't mind having a bad guy who's smiling but everyone in this game seems so positive for lack of a better description. I mean even the assassins (bayman and christie) dont really give killer vibes.

I actually find DOA to be less "smiley" than other fighters. For example, everyone in Street Fighter acts like they're ecstatically doped up on ecstasy.

Didn't know how bushy his eyebrows used to be.

I still prefer the current smirking Bayman.
Bayman smirking is like Nico Robin doing a fault face. it should not be. He's supposed to be the stoic deadly assassin,

I can't stand his fratbro marine persona in 5. tthen again I can't stand pretty much all the characters personalities being 180'd in 5. I think Leon is the only one who didn't get screwed over that way.

To be fair, Leon also isn't in the story. If you don't like a lot of the characters in 5, you may not like Leon anymore either after DOA6, depending on what they do with his story.
So long as they don't overhaul him from a certified badass into an incompetent grinning goontard like they did with Zack and Bayman...

I don't think everyone had much of a gradual 180 degrees shift from their old personalities. Heck, some characters who had gradual shifts tend to be likable.

Like Bass for example, I never really liked how he was the same old slut-shaming redneck parent in the past 4 tournaments. I like how he's more carefree and fun-loving now.

There should be an awkward exchange if you have Bayman/Phase 4 in tag like how Ein/Lisa was done. I imagine Bayman didn't like getting cut up.

I honestly thought the scar wasn't bad. It created more diversity among the guys' faces as opposed to everyone having a clear face. I mean Bass has a beard, Leon and Brad have stubbles and they don't look half bad themselves (although I initially disliked how Leon has wrinkles and for looking older than Bass or Gen Fu).

The scar eventually made him attractive (to me anyways).

I don't have a problem with Bayman having a scar, but it does bother me the way they did it. It doesn't look like a real scar to me.
