Setting her history aside, I don't think she's really the type of person to go out from the village. Personality-wise, she's just bland.
Things like this are why I feel that there needs to be some kind of miniseries that gives insight to the characters outside the context of the tournaments or ninja drama. It could easily have the nice side-effect of allowing better characterization to side characters without having to find some excuse to make them playable.

Come to think of it, this world of DoA is full of potential for anime material. Though quite obviously not with the clones plot thing.

Then again, not sure I'd want it because that kinda full of potential thing always has the tendency to come out terrible.
I'd be okay if it was actually doa, instead of ninja gaiden. as in, focus on the non Ninjas fora change. iif Queens Blade could manage to focus on EVERYBODY, then so could.a DOA anime.

Wouldn't that supposed to be Code Chronos?

I know this is like 4 pages late but Leifang's more lighthearted personality in 5 is the effect of her friendship with Hitomi.

previously, kasumi and ayane took down raidou and Genra on their own. was retconned that they had help. then character personalities were overhauled. zZack used to be an eccentric but badass DJ who always came as runner up in tournaments, now he's a total assclown. lei fang used to be an arrogant master insulted that Jann saved her, now she's a fawning schoolgirl. Hitomi used to be the tomboy of the series (like Mila is now), now she's lei fangs bubbly sidekick. CChristie used to be classy, now she's slutty. Brad used to be on some spiritual quest and meditated and gave up drinking, now he's just a dirty old drunk man. sso on and so forth.

Don't forget what they did to Eliot, in 4 he was a bit mopey but serious and mature for his age it especially showed in his cutscenes with brad where they have a serious man to man discussion about genfu and whether hes worthy of being his apprentice or the one with christie where she jumps out of nowhere with explosions everywhere and he didn't bat an eyelash and gave a quick complement about her beauty before getting down to business.

where as in 5 gets into fights with brad over the last piece of food, lurks at bars drinking milk while oogling christies tits, and gets shook by growling german girls

That's still my favorite DOA4 scene. lol

What Eliot should have said to Brad in DOA5:
"Make your own dinner drunkard!"

Eliot is no more evolved or devolved as a character than he was in DOA4. He still has his insecure pretty-boy thing going on, and still likes to fight, still respectful, he's still figuring out what he wants to do with his life, he still isn't socially adroit, etc.

One of the few, but I think Eliot is basically the same as he was in 4.

Leon's the same too and by that i mean not being a part of this horrible story and chilling in the desert drinking cactus juice, skinny dipping in oases, raising camels, and watching soprano reruns while not giving a damn about stuff and thangs

Yes. Until TN ruins that with DOA6.

I disagree with this. I think Eliot definitely changed some in DOA5. He seems more confident in his abilities.

Zack being blown off the side of a tower WHILE SCALING IT BAREHANDED, WHICH IS BADASS, plus rescuing Helena from a burning building, also badass, is nowhere near the level of complete goofball that is 5 Zack. he just loses to everyone, serves as Helenas jester (literally), and there's nothing cool about him anymore.
Now, now. He gave Jann a run for his money, not to mention beating Tina and Mila in a two-on-one fight. Dude's still got it. He just doesn't really have any ambitions anymore since he's working behind the scenes of the tournament and not in the spotlight.

I will admit however, that most of the DOA4 endings were retarded and out of character. kkind of an omen for what 5 would bring. as for Brad, he did a seasons long meditation and hurled his flask from a mountain top, signifying that he would stop drinking. you don't have to be actually drunk for his style. then 4 gave him acid trips instead...
That is not ginger ale he's drinking in his win poses and when he was talking with Eliot. You're assuming that his DOA3 ending was canon. Or maybe he relapsed. I dunno.

Hitomi was at worst naive in 3 and 4, not counting the trex incident. I most definitely had complaints about the 4 arcade endings. ssome were good, like Helena, Bayman, Ryu, Tina, etc. others were either totally out of character (brad), or just stupid (kasumi, Hayate, Hitomi, lei fang, etc).
What was wrong with Hayate's ending?

And for some reason he thought it would be smart to try his luck against Hayabusa...
