I want to agree with tn for the first sentence, but then that second sentence kinda justifies all the bitching from western fans.

Results aside...I have a pretty good feeling that since we've had to wait this long for DLC from the first contest it means that probably most, if not all characters are getting an outfit. All these fetish nonsense packs are just fillers before the good stuff comes out. ;)

Personally, I prefer 7-8 hits/inputs at most. Just with less strict timing that SF or Tekken.

And that's fine. I'm not faulting people for doing combos or anything.

^Acting like the two are mutually exclusive.

Hudurpidyderp.

I'm faulting people for trying to act like juggles and guaranteed combos are the only way a fighting game can possibly work.

I'm one of the few who enjoys the struggle to win over the actual win itself. So my ideal fighter would, shocker, be more for me.

A few fighters have come close, but I'd like to cherry pick the elements I like out of variosu games to make my ideal fighter.

I'm still thinking we either aren't getting contest dlc at all, or it will just be the usual lineup of skimpy outfits for the same old girls as usual.

Some say pessimistic, I say realistic.

I like how light and flowy the pajamas are

It'd be nice to get a trailer, curious what the pajamas have for their feet. If they're animal slippers I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Leifang will get panda slippers, Hitomi bear slippers, and Kokoro... some random ass animal

What about you? If you had to remember ONE stage from DOA5(U), minus Lorelei/Forest/Lost World, what would it be?
Scramble...flow...Sakura...Sky City Tokyo--oh wait, you said "ONE stage"...screw the rules.

TN is upset with western fans b/c of the way we b*tched about the halloween contest results
They did? Send me the link NOOWWW!! O_O

You're faulting something that doesn't even exist. Literally the only difference between high, single-hit damage and guaranteed delayed combos is buttons pressed and execution time/skill. That's it.

The notion that it actually affects the validity of a win, or theoretical ramifications of the process through which that achieved, is completely absurd.

As long as you keep "faulting" people for not agreeing with a fictitious notion that you created which defies logical tautology, you can expect a grand sum of 0 people to consider your proposals seriously.

>TAM Ninja< Lol could be a typo, but yeah dunno what to feel from that response.

I do believe that people from the west are salty because now the votes are legitimate this time. I will admit...I don't like some of them either...but complaining will just give us a bad reputation. I know I ain't buying em, but showing your rage to TN is just making it worse.

I do feel their pain though, they have the right to get tight...but it really isn't going to change anything. The first contest was such a mess too, if they would of done the first contest now with the official site voting...I would of been pleased. Win or Lose. Better to accept what it is now than losing to fraud accounts from FB. I wouldn't be surprised if this will be the last contest too, If I had to make a choice to avoid all those costume drama situation.....I would make that the last contest and just focus on the game build. *Rock the default outfit* if you love this game so much.

Really?

Valuing reflexes and combat prowess more than memorizing long strings of input is a "ficticious notion"?

Look I know you disagree, but please don't talk out your ass to do it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Its the mentality that I have a problem with. Most players' focus is on how to extend/guarantee combos to the detriment of all else. To the point people will actively rage if they cant. Exactly why I would love to see a successful fighter where juggles aren't the main focus, where it CAN'T be, to help break that mentality.

But I'm sure I'll still get the same old "if you can't juggle/combo then its not a real fighter" nonsensical rebuttal, but I'd still say its worth a shot. All fighters have bits and pieces I'd wanna use. DOA style counter system, knock back and pursuit system like dbz, and azrael from blazblue, and being able to Bob and weave like makoto and akihiko, etc etc.

Man I wish I had resources to make it lol. He awesome for those who out effort into it.

But it would be the same situation DOA has, most people would dismiss it for the defensive options preventing them from just memorizing combos for damage lol.

Like in mk9, id always get hat email for sheevas grapple a constantly catching people trying to rush in for 50% combos. Oh, good times...

But yeah. I wish I could make a game that would encourage people to get better instead of just try to copy juggles off high level players.

But ending discussion here as this doesn't need to escalate, as it inevitably will.

Lol, can you even poke in this game? Like every poke can turn into a full combo?
Ayane and momiji at any rate lol

High level play in most games revolves around good footsies though and you end up learning footsies because one error and boom, say bye to a good portion of your life.

While, i don't agree with things like kiss of death scenarios a good combo proves that you have execution or literally brain dead oki scenarios which then boom after 3 guesses you're dead, it's good to have combos to get a bang for your buck so to speak.

They teach your opponent to not be an idiot because it's like "oh, there went a good portion of my life better not do that stupid thing again".

edit: Whatever. Pointless going in circles with you.

In other news, I wonder if we should expect costumes from the first fan contest or second fan contest to come first, or at the same time.

On paper sure. And it would be great if that were the case.

In practice its more "most people bumrush because they know if they ever get a lucky hit off they can do a 50-70% combo they memorized".

So the reality is that it encourages people to just mindlessly rush, then whine when that backfires.

Nobody needs to or wants to learn or adapt because reward far outweighs risk.

I expect them either to be saved for doa6, or nothing at all.

I feel like we would have heard something by now if we were getting it as dlc.

The issue comes in from the fact that the rage wasn't the problem, it was WHO the rage was directed to. I mean really, how many people IMMEDIATELY blamed the Japanese fans, the artists who made the "slutty" costumes, the people who voted for said costumes and then went on a massive tirade and bitched all over the place on a public space where TN can easily see it?

The issue isn't the fact that there wasn't justified rage, it was how it was wrongfully used to condemn people and pretty much makes us look like pure shit in the process.

In the end, no one really won, but Western Fans pretty much faceplanted into the asphalt from 100,000 off the air while falling at Mach 10 in the eyes of both TN and the Eastern fans and THAT is a far worse blow than what we perceive this contest to ever be.

Normally bum rushers do stupid ass launches which then can get them launched and then they lose, players like that usually lose hard to a good defense and then that begins with footsies which goes back to my statement

"oh, there went a good portion of my life better not do that stupid thing again".

So at this point all I can tell you is work on your defense, when i play games I learn a rhythm and when that doesn't work I adapt to my opponents and fill in the plot holes, you can ask most people who play against me i usually nail them for an error.
