"We", though? I'm really starting to reject this concept of "Japanese" fans versus "Western" fans because "Western means any different number of countries with a hell of a lot larger group than Japan. I'm just supposed to be grouped in with whatever asshat who decides to spout garbage...from random country I've never even visited? Well, of course the probability of running into an asshat is higher if you listen to "the West" because the sample size is that much greater. We can talk about cultural differences and such but even then...people from all of these different countries can't possibly be some kind of hive mind. Are they? Are our views really so similar that it might as well just be one group? Or maybe is just being looked at as Japanese and non-Japanese...?

I dunno. But, as I said before, if your views are not being represented, then speaking up is necessary. "We" need to start outnumbering people who deign to be rude and obnoxious as opposed to civil. Because I'd rather not be painted with that brush when I can't control the infinite number of asshats (who don't even come to this site) who happen to be from "the West".

And it's "Nyotengu". There is no extended "o" sound or anything. I don't even know who these supposed "Western" fans are who have a problem with the name, either...

I don't think you get what I mean...so I'll try and say this in a different way.
You know how people always say they represent their jobs and what they do can easily affect those jobs and can get them fired, even if they technically did nothing wrong at the job?
This is that same situation. Those asshats DO represent us because they are the loudest and easily make themselves known, they are still part of our collective and they give us a bad rep by allowing themselves to act like a damn fool without any real punishment and people even going so far as to applaud them for it.

You are right, if you want the label to go away, you DO need more people to the point we can outnumber the fools and then actually demonize their attitude. It's one thing to express disappointment, it's another to start exploding on everyone and people applauding and agreeing with him as if he made the best point in the world when all he did was throw a temper tantrum. If your costume didn't win, so what? Congratulate the winners, it's not hard to be the bigger man despite the fact you lost or is disappointed over something not going the way you want it, it's better than whining like a sore loser and making everyone else look bad.

And if you want to be frank, they probably emailed TN about it and didn't talk about it outright. I do agree with the fact I hope they give her a real name soon though, as NyoTengu feels more like a title and a species than anything else.

Sorry for bringing it back up. Not really much to talk about other than watching the typical "I like this DLC/I hate this DLC/TN is out of touch with what we want/sex sells and TN takes advantage" deal we have now.

Until we get to TFC or Nyo finally gets announced for consoles, this is gonna be pretty boring unless we can finally talk about stuff outside of DOA in here for the next couple of weeks.
