Trying to get into DOA, coming from the Tekken scene. Do you guys play anywhere on the weekends? Can't do more than drop by for about an hour or two for WNF and bounce before the tourney starts since I have work the following day.

yeah there are usually casuals somewhere on the weekends. It depends on who's hosting though. @iHajinShinobi might know if anything is up this weekend

Alright, cool. I'll drop by Super Arcade today for a bit. Hopefully somebody is there for me to mess around and learn off of before the place gets packed and the tourney starts.

people usually come around 8:30 for DOA. I'm usually one of the first ones there, but I won't be making it out this week

I will not be in attendence tonight, sadly. However, if you see any of the regulars on DOA when they arrive, definitely feel free to approach them and introduce yourself and try some casuals with them.
I should be at WNF next week, since I'm more of the elaborate of the bunch who attends regularly. But I'm sure they can help you if you have questions.

Aboslutely, my xbl expired recently, but once I've got it back up, I'll play with you. I'm not a great player, but I'll take any opportunity to learn from other people at least.
Dude, majority of who attend WNF for DOA make an hour, hour and a half, two hour drive every week. You should definitely try to attend WNF. The support is needed and we always welcome more players. Doesn't matter if you're great or not, ALL OF US go to get better and improve.

Many thanks to AirGear for showing me the ropes. Great learning experience trading info and knowledge of our respective fighting games. Hopefully if anyone is hosting this weekend, I'm more than down to learn as much as I can.
EDIT: As for commutes, just some food for thought. Extenuating circumstances aside, a bunch of buddies and myself used to drive from UCR up to FFA just to get games in for Tekken 5DR (that's about a 2-4 hour drive depending on traffic). Players from Super Arcade would come out to UCR on weekdays to play us, vice versa. Players from Arizona would drive to SoCal Video 94 on weekends to play Tekken 6. SoCal players will go from LA to San Diego just to attend gatherings for Tag 2.
While life does take priority, if you can make it out, I feel it's worth the effort.

and my glasses are in a protective case.
didn't mean to come off as mean. kinda wrote that while in the middle of something so i only had time to just put the point across quickly and bluntly. otherwise i would have added some more so it would have sounded less [>:O]
so my bad. but what we gonna do for Saturday since that's right around the corner? same thing?
