Just putting it out there, Namco is hosting an event on the 15th with 5 yet to be announced games. So I could see SCVI announced at PSX with more details then, hopefully.

Just stopping by to say that I heard from one source (the one that told me of the Switch version originally and Link being in it) that the Bandai Namco event on December 15th where they announce (and detail) 5 new games might be where they either reveal SCVI initially, or specifically just info and confirmation of the Switch version.
They said the things that are going to be a part of it/most likely include Soul Calibur VI, a new Tales of game since the 15th of December is actually the series' anniversary, the My Hero Academia game, that "unprecedented" One Piece game they announced earlier this year that is apparently an open-world game of some kind with the finalized name possibly being "One Piece: Unlimited Dawn," and the Dragon Ball FighterZ for Switch confirmation.
They said there could be some things swapped out for others, but those they said seem to be the mostly likely 5 that they know about to be revealed and detailed further during it.

December can't come soon enough!

That was cool just to watch trailers and footage of the previous SC games now that It seems we are so close to getting a new SC game! I don't know what they'll show if they reveal it, Possibly a trailer or something but It will be really cool to see the characters back and new ones in another awesome SC opening etc.

It seems like It won't be a PSX but at least it seems like it is going to happen.

Maximilian suggested a reveal maybe on E3 2018. Come on, that is way, waaay too late. x__X I sincerely hope they reveal it this year. If it's not PSX then please at the Game Awards or/and at their Namco event, on 15th I think, where they are about to present the public at least 5 new games.

By now I don't doubt for a second that SC6 is in development. I believed it since the big character poll actually, the only question is: When will they finally get their act together and reveal it? D:

Hey guys, gaming journalist Geoff Keighley just teased in a Kotaku podcast that a sixth entry to a gaming franchise will get a 30-second CGI trailer at The Game Awards on the 7th. How many other games are on their sixth entry by now? Halo 6, TES VI, GTA VI... but none of them having any clues to a reveal at this time. Also, SC is known for having CGI trailers, so...

Is it too early to get excited?

Eugh, I hope it's not the reveal they plan for Soul Calibur 6. I hate CGI trailers for games, they tell you basically nothing about how the game will actually look like. It will be like torture to just see CGI and wait for real gameplay maybe for several more months.

I'd say it's basically confirmed SCVI will be announced on the 7th, and we'll get more info at the Namco event on the 15th. Can you believe we're almost here, after all this time we're finally getting the new Soulcalibur game? I feel like I just completed a journey. Can you believe that both SC6 and DOA6 might be revealed by the end of the year? O: I've waited so long for these two... They were actually my two most wanted games at the start of this new console generation.

I hope SC6 will practically be a reboot of the series. What gameplay, story and characters is concerned. I want SC to feel like SC2 and SC3 again. Polished and in-depth, with great single player content and a great character roster. SC4 and SC5 felt both rushed.
Since SC was always an eye candy series, so I want it to look amazing too. I talked about it in the graphics thread before: I hope they will optimize the game for all platforms, and not do bad porting work, like Tekken 7 or Street Fighter V. These games already look dated on consoles and can't even reach full HD resolutions...
But I also expect a lot artistically from the game. I hope they will surpass SC3 in that regard. It was the artistically most beautiful SC. The stages and costumes were fantastic and never reached that beauty and elaborateness again in SC4 or 5.

Please can we have DOA6 and SC6 revealed before the end of the year! That would be so amazing I'd be so hyped. It's December now as well so we are now in the month that things are going to start getting revealed!

I guess I could say SC5 was rushed since it really was missing a few things hopefully SC6 has them though like the single player modes that added a lot to the games back in SC2 - SC3. The artistry and how the outfits will look etc is one of the things that will be really cool to see as renders of the characters come out and stuff, Seeing how detailed and amazing the outfits look etc. Oh the stages as well, that skipped my mind, The stages will be so gorgeous to see and what they do with them, I'm expecting them to be amazing.

All of this counts for both DOA6 and SC6. I'm so excited to see what both will do with stages and the character designs and outfits, If both are revealed I will be so hyped!

Personally at least I expect/suspect they've been working on DOA6 for multiple years potentially behind the scenes getting ready for support to end for DOA5 to then reveal it. That's what I imagine anyway but that may be wrong.

You know I want doa6 much more than I would want a doax4! ;P Although doax4 can come after we have doa6...I would/will be happy though.

But yeah It's been suggested for a while that doa6 could be the announcement that's happening at NEC, So..I just hope it is. Also I forgot so had to look up NEC date again, I think I've got it, It's the 15th to the 17th of December.

Also I'm now going to start looking at old character designs from SC3.

Looking through the previous SC designs, Ivy's outfit in SC2 was really nice, I feel like I can say I liked every single one of her outfits ( Including her alternative outfit in SC4 ) more than her main outfit in SC4. ( Her main SC4 outfit is okay but I just like the others more for reasons )

I'm guessing characters like Talim and Taki will be back since they are really popular and people wanted them back, Don't know If Natsu will be back If Taki is. Also..Setsuka should be back instead of getting replaced by patroklos again...He didn't even have an umbrella either. ( I'm now just thinking of characters that weren't in SC5 that I want back now lol ) Cassandra should be back too, always liked her. Amy I wouldn't count as being excluded though since...Viola is Amy with amnesia ( And yes it is Amy ) although I did miss her having the Rapier moveset. Her magic ball was cool though. I'd love to see her though in SC6 either as Viola or with her memory back as Amy.

One of the hardest questions for a SC fan I feel like would be who's best dressed since all the characters have such cool clothes but Amy/Viola is definitely up there for being the best dressed. Always thought the gothic lolita type clothing they wore was amazing looking.

I wonder what direction they're going with in SCVI. It's certainly not Daishi's direction, as it's been pretty clear that Hoshino has different views on the series compared to him. Vergeben said there were retcons in place, and generally retcons are used when the creators are trying to fix something. Just got to wait a little bit longer to find out...
