DOA5LR - Senran Kagura Mashup Set is now availabe @steam
http://store.steampowered.com/app/358144

price: 33,99€ (how does this compare to the console prices?)

still not possible to buy individual costumes ... :/
and as expected:
"Note: The costume damage feature is not available in the Steam version."

nice touch from TN to use the PS4 images in the steam store:
"*The stage shown in Mila's screenshot cannot be used in game."
well thx for reminding us ...
somehow feels as if they are just trolling the pc users :(

People made rightly notice them how they were using trailers using the stages not included in the PC version and how this was false advertising... They added this line because they can't not do it if they are going to use that picture of Mila.

So they more or less said fuck giving us the stages then but they are giving us more DLC?

It's ridiculous, imo.
They could add the two versions separately, at least. Isn't there a way to bypass the problem they had? Come on, it's just a switch of shapes...

Little more complicated than that, but I don't think it's strenuous enough that it would consume large amounts of time or financial resources.

Yeah I know, it's a provocation created by my frustation. The problem is that Team Ninja, with the PC version, simply want to take the highest gain with the slightest effort. I cannot say I don't understand them but... come on...

Very importantly, today were even released 2 survey for the PC users, one being the usual general one about the feedback to the game (however adressed to the Steam users), and another purposefully related to the issues meet testing the beta online version of the game.

Be sure to make hear your voice about both the matters, our feedback is the only way to convince the people behind the game to improve the product according to the fanbase preferences (and I suppose that everyone know about what I'm talking about, the missing contents from the console version).

Tried some matches just now, so far so good. Those who remember DoA4 get ready from a "blast from the past" with the online there, only ranked matches are allowed thus far. Check your settings before you try it, it has a LR as both the min & max rank as default. The network speed settings are there in training mode. The 'cheevos for those who care about those things, are apparently linked to the online component, they weren't working before & now they are.

I've had 4 as of this writing, the connections were good each time, even in the match where we each had 2 bars. How will this change when more people go online when the beta is finished is the question.

EDIT: My last match the game ended the match mid-way through. I was Lei Lei & my opponent was MR. I hope it was a fluke or it due to it being a beta.

Many times this! I know people have more acute preferences than me when it comes to online/PC, but hopefully more will put in requests for missing console features too, please. I'd really like to see TN polish the game if they can see enough interest in this platform as well.

Hey guys, I need opinions on these desktops. Which would best run DOA smoothly from 1 being the best to 3 the least? Price is not a factor atm. You can also tell me about other PC options. ANY feedback would be nice, thanks!

Only the graphics card really matters in DoA, desktop CPUs from 2010 will run it, only laptops struggle.

If you're not concerned about price just go to a site that lets you pick parts and assembles/ships the system to you.
All you need is an i7 4790k + 16gb of ram and an nvidia 980gtx, brands of other parts barely matter you can just buy the cheapest. As long as you have those 3 parts it will pretty much run any current game on high settings at 1080P 60FPS with anti-aliasing. There's a few cheaper options but they might become outdated more rapidly negating any money saved. You can also spend much more but performance per $ will be lower, you could spend 2x as much and only get 20% higher performance. It's more effective to just buy a reasonable system and buy a newer GPU in 3-4 years than trying to get 8 years out of an expensive computer.

Build your own Yuffie. You can get a "bare bones" gaming desktop from Newegg or TigerDirect for $500 to $800. All you have to apply is the elbow grease when the parts arrive at your doorstep.

  • Only 2 things I'd suggest when you start building your own: first, replace the case fans that the tower comes with. My favorites in this department are either Zalman or Noctua fans. The former are tough to find, but the latter are much more expensive since they're imported. Both of those will last you for multiple desktops. My 80 mm Noctua case fan is now on my mothers PC, it's running as quietly & efficiently since I got the thing when that company 1st made inroads to the U.S.of A... 12+ years ago.
  • Second: get zip ties. You'll get a lot of them for a couple of dollars. I'm anal about airflow on my PCs, so once I know that all wires are where they're supposed to be, I tie everything I can think of.

Those are all shit, and way overpriced. I recommend building your own. If you're unsure about part compatibility there's sites to help with that like https://pcpartpicker.com/ and newegg also offers some part combos.

That said, DOA5 isn't an intensive game. My old laptop can run it at a solid 1080p60 (i7 2760qm + gtx 560m). So you don't need to most expensive parts if you just want to play DOA. But I recommend at least a gtx 960 since you can get some great deals on them now. If you were planning on buying MGS5 anyway, this card comes out to just $110.

So, what's going on with this version? Are they still doing testing or is it gonna take even more time for online to actually work and servers to go up?

Have they mentioned anything regarding updates and such? Will it get the latest patch?

After the issues found, they delayed the online patch to an unknown date. We have no idea how long that will take. People can still opt-in to the beta if they want.

That's all we know. PC is still a few DLC packs behind (which may be related to the lack of any recent updates), but we'll probably get the latest patch, perhaps not when it drops on consoles, but probably at least alongside the eventual online update.

Sounds like it's pretty up in the air right now. I'm patient, so I hope something very good comes out of all of this.
