General


Who is your main?

-The Strongest Man in the World, Leon

Why did you choose him/her as your main and since when have you been maining him/her?

-I chose him because i usually gravitate towards the non-wrestler grappler characters in all fighting games and Leon's sheer brutality and man handling of opponents simply won me over. I mained him in since DOA2 so its been about 15 years

What is the thing you like the most about your main?

-His no nonsense fighting style whose sole purpose is to break opponents in half

Is there anything you would like to be different from your main?

-To actually be part of the canon and not be doomed to be an unlockable or bonus character with no story for the rest of the series post DOA3

What do you think of your main character's fighting style?

-Its everything i want in a fighter no stances, no flashy gimmicks, no fancy ballerina twirling crap...just pure indomitable rage let loose on anything in his path

What is your main character's favorite move? Why?

-He has many damn good moves like 33p, 7p, mount tackle, desert falcon etc but with its huge buff in DOA5 his air throw is definitely what sets him apart from the rest of the roster with its ability to be directed in any direction giving him insane environmental setups


What is your main character's least favorite move? Why?
- 44p, a worthless addition that no respectable Leon player will ever use or even remember he has

Have you ever considered dropping your main character? Why or why not?
-Nope, the one and only time I even mained anyone other then him was during the dark age of DOA5 vanilla when he was cut and i had to resort to my DOA4 secondary... Eliot

-Love his personality, He is a complete asshole who treats his opponents like shit whether through his fighting style or intro/outros but also has a soft side when it comes to his deceased lover lauren

What do you think of your main character's apperance?

-I think he looks badass and love his more older grizzled look he has in 5, hes not a pretty boy or GQ model he's a big hulking powerhouse mercenary veteran whose been through and seen some shit and he looks the part.

What do you think of your main character's voice?

-I use english voices only so going by his english voice its perfectly fine. he has a deep authoritative gravelly voice fitting of an old angry hard ass

What is your opinion of your main character's music theme(s)?

-Think all of them are great, I have a great like for arabian style of music so him getting arab-rock/metal themes is a big part of why he's my favorite character

What do you think of your main character's fashion sense?

-He looks badass in pretty much anything, he can rock the casual look just as well as his combat attire and still retain his coolness especially in 5 where he can apply his shades on any outfit he chooses

What is your main's favorite costume? Why?

-His Desert Marauder outfit of course seeing how i designed it and all :cool:. My favorite TN designed outfit for him will always be this masterpiece though

How would you rate your main character's moveset in general? (scale 1-5; 1 = poor, 5 = excellent)? Why did you choose this number?
(4.5) Hes come a long way from being the Bayman clone he was back in DOA2 and evolved into a more vicious and brutal fighter that now holds the crown of best environmentalist in the roster. He has pretty much all the tools fit for a pure offensive super heavy powerhouse, with a few bug fixes and changes to his GB advantage/knock back distance it would be an easy 5

How would you rate your main character in terms being able to capitalize on mistakes of the opponent (scale 1-5; 1 = poor, 5 = excellent)? Why did you choose this number?

(5). A simple whiff punished launcher or high counter throw from Leon can easily lead to 70% of your health gone all from guaranteed damage

How would you rate your main character in terms of offensive options (scale 1-5; 1 = poor, 5 = excellent)? Why did you choose this number?
(4) He can't outpoke, rush down, or rely on speed whatsoever but with his many 2in1's, deep stuns, ground grabs, air grabs, one of the best high crushes in the game with 33p and even a nice low crush with his 9p that either guarantees a ground grab or a launch on hit, many guaranteed setups, many 1 guess setups, some of the highest damaging throws in the game along with good offensive holds, surprisingly legit high/low mixups with built in string delays due to his chargeable attacks including a chargeable CB that bypasses stun levels giving him access to 3 hit CB setups off any of his moves and even with out playing the stun game it offers a special hit throw that launches into an air grab, i'd say those above points easily make up for his speed

How would you rate your main character in terms of defensive options (scale 1-5; 1 = poor, 5 = excellent)? Why did you choose this number?

(2.5) He doesn't really have anything defensive wise other than universal stuff the whole cast has access too which is the whole point of separating him from Bayman who is the defensive specialist of the sambo duo.

How would you rate your main character in terms of speed (scale 1-5; 1 = poor, 5 = excellent)? Why did you choose this number?

(2.5) He's a slow powerhouse and doesn't rely on pure speed, He still matches a majority of the rosters mids with both an i13 mid p and k and still has a slight speed advantage over characters like brad, Nyo, and Bass

How would you rate your main character in terms of safety (scale 1-5; 1 = poor, 5 = excellent)? Why did you choose this number?

(3.5) some of his best moves are unsafe but with his ability to charge most of his attacks he can turn unsafe moves into actual frame advantage

How would you rate your main character in terms of damage output (scale 1-5; 1 = poor, 5 = excellent)? Why did you choose this number?

(5) He has unarguably the highest damage potential of the entire roster especially when u factor in certain stages, even better is how easy it is for him to access that damage since they are guaranteed or only allow 1 guess

How would you rate your main character in terms of evasiveness (scale 1-5; 1 = poor, 5 = excellent)? Why did you choose this number?

(2.5) He doesn't have any command side steps, special stances, or teleports to work with like the likes of lisa, busa, brad,marie, christie, bayman etc but his 33p and its guaranteed follow ups works as a great "get the fuck off me" move that crushes all highs on rush down characters who try to pressure him with pokes and get put right on their ass for his 1 guess setup than can lead to 50%+damage

(3.) Like i said earlier Leon won't be applying pressure by rushing down with pokes and constant high/low mix up pressure. What he does have are his 2in1s, decent high/low strings, many GBs that offer frame advantage, being able to mix up his offense with charged/uncharged attacks keeping the opponents guessing on whether he'll charge or not charge his attacks, His ground throws to keep opponents from relying on wake up kicks and forcing them to tech up or take damage and on top of all that he has some damn good OHs to rely on especially his 33t

(3) Leon has no special command sidesetps, parries, or stances so he has to rely on his crushes and reading his opponents with holds and sidesteps. if it wasn't for 33p and its follow ups he'd definitely be rated lower in this category

How would you rate your main character in terms of being able to fight at close quarters combat (scale 1-5; 1 = poor, 5 = excellent)? Why did you choose this number?

(4) CQC is ironically the name of his actual fighting style so it makes since thats where he excels at, his best moves rely on being close to his opponent especially since his range game is pretty non existent, already mentioned what hes capable of in the offensive category so no need to repeat it again here

(2.) By far his biggest weakness, Leon can't really do much when the opponent is spacing him out and has to slowly work his way in, He does have a few good long range moves like his non charged power launcher which has huge reach but is risky. he also has some good mid range moves like 46p, 33T and 8K but overall Leon doesn't want his opponent too far out of cqc range

(5+++++) seriously environment is Leon's specialty no other character has access to directing their opponent in any direction they want after a launch and his setups and damage output from the dangerzones, breakable objects, and walls is just icing on the already delicious cake

When I downloaded the DOAD's demo (my first DOA game), the only two males were him and Jann Lee. "This one scream way too much, and I've always loved ninjas so..." and everything started!

What is the thing you like the most about your main?

He is a ninja :D (although he is LIKE a ninja, a true one would be complitely different)

Is there anything you would like to be different from your main?

Maybe he lack too much in terms of speed even if he is a ninja. And a Kasumi 7K P+K would be fantastic *-*

What do you think of your main character's fighting style?

Good strenght and avarage speed, plus teleport attacks and fantastic throws. You couldn't wish something better.

i chose Kasumi because the first Time I saw her I instantly fell in love with her and had a huge connection to her.

What I like the most about her... Hmm idk actually, she's just a very brave girl who does everything for her family, I love that kind of loyalty.

Is there anything you would like to be different from your main?
No, not really she's pretty much perfect to me.

What do you think of your main character's fighting style?
I absolutely love it, she fight so graceful and beautiful, I love the Sakura petals. I always had a connection with nature.

What is your main character's favorite move? Why?
Her 1T crouch throw because I like how she kicks you in the air and how you can combo of it.

What is your main character's least favorite move? Why?
Hmm I have to say her 8P because it's useless, also her 66H+K because it's too unsafe.

Yes, I actually considered dropping Kasumi once, there was a period where I played really bad with Kasumi so I switched to Momiji. But after 3 days I truly regret maining Kasumi as a secondary so switched back to Kasumi and never considered dropping her ever again.

Did you have other mains in the past?

Raidou, Ayane,Genra,Rachel,Hayate,Phase4 and Honoka.

Well, she Mostly wears ninja clothing or School girl clothing but I think it's cool, I rather see her in more costumes like her intimate, designers challenge and casual DLC.

I like her Senran kagura DLC the most because she Cosplays as my Senran Kagura main, Asuka.

What is your main's least favorite costume? Can it be costumes ? because I dislike a lot of her swimsuits, I like them but not in the fighting game, like put the swimsuits in the DOAX series where they belong.

I would give her a 10 if I could because she's so good at attacking.

2 because she has a weak defense and only her parries,low kick counter and her 46H mid kick advance hold are useful

I chose her pretty soon after DOA5U launched. Her moveset, visual appeal, and voice sold me on her while I was going through a character crisis in 5V/5+.

What is the thing you like the most about your main?

At the time, the simplicity of her combo game. Quite literallly Launch, 6PKKP. Now, I'm finding her ranged tools a bit nicer.

Is there anything you would like to be different from your main?

Two big things, actually. I'd like to see her moveset take after Ryu's a bit more so that TN can make a real Aikido-type character, and I'd like at least one High-Low/Mid-Low string. Maybe some stronger variety in her post-launch options.

Also, loose hair in DOA6. Let that ponytail go, girl.

What do you think of your main character's fighting style?

It's safe. I'd enjoy some more lows, but she's got some nice tricks.

What is your main character's favorite move? Why?
Tied between 66PP (probably the best ranged punishment tool in the game if used properly) and 2P (easily the best 2P in the game).

What is your main character's least favorite move? Why?

BT H+K. It's basically useless.

Have you ever considered dropping your main character? Why or why not?

Not dropping, no, but I have left her alone to experiment with others. She just vibes with me too well.

Did you have other mains in the past?

Back in DOA5V, I bounced between Mila, Brad, and Kasumi. As of LR, I feel confident in subbing Mila. I'm learning Honoka and Zack as well.

Absolute wife material. The soft yet strong voice (regardless of language), nice body, and willingness to kick ass to protect her family.

What do you think of your main character's appearance?

With a couple of exceptions in her wardrobe, a definite 10/10. Her amber eyes are probably what I'd consider her charm point. That and her winning smile.

What do you think of your main character's voice? Note: Please state if you are referring to the Japanese or English voice.

Again, 10/10. Both Kate Higgins and Yuko Minoguchi seem to capture her perfectly. "Better luck next time, huh?".

What is your opinion of your main character's music theme(s)?
Fuga is an amazing theme, regardless of which version you hear.

What do you think of your main character's fashion sense?

There are some oddities (C11, C16, C20, C26, C38), but she's got a nice wardrobe that doesn't get too nonsensical. Her cameo/crossover costumes are also generally well-executed.

What is your main's favorite costume? Why?

I'm torn between her Ninja DLC dress, her Deception DLC, her Legacy costume and her default.

What is your main's least favorite costume? Why?

Either her Tatsunoko DLC or her Christmas ribbons. Neither really looks fitting or good.

4. She lacks a few tools I'd like her to have, but she's still solid for a simple character.

5. Her 66PP and 8p are scary whiff punishers that hands you ~80 damage for little work, her throws do solid damage and keep you where she wants you, and her holds do the same.

How would you rate your main character in terms of offensive options (scale 1-5; 1 = poor, 5 = excellent)? Why did you choose this number?

4. Her safety cannot be overlooked, her damage is good, and she's got a few dangerous high crush options. Her game's mostly played through highs and mids, so she can be predictable and parry users can have her number.

2. Her backflip facing either direction isn't great, and she has a single advanced hold. Counting her high crushes, it's not astounding. Take those away, I'd give her a 1.5.

4.5. 10/12/12 is almost as fast as it gets, and with 2 different instant/near instant high crushes, she's pretty scary up close.

5. When basically every string has a safe ending, it's hard to not give her a 5. Maybe a few more safe mid-string traps could push her to a 6...

5. Her throws and holds both provide average damage, and her strike damage is above average based on player input, especially considering her traditional stun-launch style.

1.5. She has some flips, but they aren't great. Other than that, not much.

How would you rate your main character in terms being able to apply pressure (scale 1-5; 1 = poor, 5 = excellent)? Why did you choose this number?

3. Despite her safety, it's still frame-negative safety, so capitalizing on it requires reading your opponent as well. It comes off as average in my experience.

3.5. She has all the universal options, but only a few tools that can straight up shut down other characters' pressure games.

4. She's not the fastest, but she's still quick and has the tools to fight any speed level at a more-or-less even level.

3. She doesn't have much at an extreme range, but she has some nice things to work with. If I can factor her mid-range tools into this, I'd bump it up to a 4.

An easy 4. She has some simple options off of all breakables that work on all weight classes that all net her basically an additional small combo. She doesn't get anything ludicrous Ryu/Leon-in-Home damage, but it's still enough to scare people.

I love her Japanese voice, it really fits her. I don't like the English voices because of the lip syncing

I chose her pretty soon after DOA5U launched. Her moveset, visual appeal, and voice sold me on her while I was going through a character crisis in 5V/5+.


What is the thing you like the most about your main?

At the time, the simplicity of her combo game. Quite literallly Launch, 6PKKP. Now, I'm finding her ranged tools a bit nicer.

Is there anything you would like to be different from your main?

Two big things, actually. I'd like to see her moveset take after Ryu's a bit more so that TN can make a real Aikido-type character, and I'd like at least one High-Low/Mid-Low string. Maybe some stronger variety in her post-launch options.

Also, loose hair in DOA6. Let that ponytail go, girl.

What do you think of your main character's fighting style?
It's safe. I'd enjoy some more lows, but she's got some nice tricks.

Tied between 66PP (probably the best ranged punishment tool in the game if used properly) and 2P (easily the best 2P in the game).

BT H+K. It's basically useless.

Not dropping, no, but I have left her alone to experiment with others. She just vibes with me too well.

Back in DOA5V, I bounced between Mila, Brad, and Kasumi. As of LR, I feel confident in subbing Mila. I'm learning Honoka and Zack as well.

Absolute wife material. The soft yet strong voice (regardless of language), nice body, and willingness to kick ass to protect her family.

What do you think of your main character's appearance?

With a couple of exceptions in her wardrobe, a definite 10/10. Her amber eyes are probably what I'd consider her charm point. That and her winning smile.

Again, 10/10. Both Kate Higgins and Yuko Minoguchi seem to capture her perfectly. "Better luck next time, huh?".

Fuga is an amazing theme, regardless of which version you hear.

There are some oddities (C11, C16, C20, C26, C38), but she's got a nice wardrobe that doesn't get too nonsensical. Her cameo/crossover costumes are also generally well-executed.

What is your main's favorite costume? Why?

I'm torn between her Ninja DLC dress, her Deception DLC, her Legacy costume and her default.

What is your main's least favorite costume? Why?

Either her Tatsunoko DLC or her Christmas ribbons. Neither really looks fitting or good.

5. Her 66PP and 8p are scary whiff punishers that hands you ~80 damage for little work, her throws do solid damage and keep you where she wants you, and her holds do the same.

4. Her safety cannot be overlooked, her damage is good, and she's got a few dangerous high crush options. Her game's mostly played through highs and mids, so she can be predictable and parry users can have her number.

2. Her backflip facing either direction isn't great, and she has a single advanced hold. Counting her high crushes, it's not astounding. Take those away, I'd give her a 1.5.

4.5. 10/12/12 is almost as fast as it gets, and with 2 different instant/near instant high crushes, she's pretty scary up close.

The DOA5 one is actually too noisy. Tai Chi Quan is supposed to represent calmness and oneness, not using force but mind. I'd like her main theme to be more calm. The DOA2(U) version is better, best one being DOA3 theme.

She's classy and elegant, but can be sporty too. What can I say? She's perfect in this regard.

4. Despite losing to nightmarish chars like :christie:, Lei-Fang, Sarah and:honoka:, she can hold on her own. 1P+K, 66P and 2H+K are good high crushes, 9p is my go-to low crush and her OHs are to discourage aggressive users whether standing or crouching.

3 despite of her great crush moves and slow movement, she's not meant to evade. She comes to make you bleed. I mean it.

4.5 Her pressure game, whether offensive pressure or defensive pressure, is imho very good but not the best. Her offensive pressure and ridiculous amount of mixups despite a low number of moves in her arsenal can, however, crack turtlers like eggs.

3.5. Blocking is her friend and rushdown she can handle with little ease depending on the character.

Why did you choose him/her as your main and since when have you been maining him/her?

I stumbled across a trailer showing her vs. Ayane for vanilla DoA5. I loved her more practical, less show-offy style in direct contrast with Ayane's spins and flips and such. Didn't hurt, either, that I have a thing for girls with brown hair and blue eyes. I ended up giving the series a try, loved it, and she's been my go-to character from the start.

What is the thing you like the most about your main?

I like her general sporty-ness, and find her to be a general fun and uplifting character overall.

Is there anything you would like to be different from your main?

She's a bit squeaky at times, which kind of bothers me, so I do wish they'd tone that down a bit.

What do you think of your main character's fighting style?

I like it a lot. It's relatively simple, effective, and sometimes brutal. One of the reasons I'd never really given fighters a try was because everything seemed very over-the-top and needlessly complicated, so the simple effectiveness of Hitomi's style has acted as a sort of gateway to the genre as a whole for me.

What is your main character's favorite move? Why?

Wall 33T. I enjoy how brutal it is for how short it lasts, and I feel it kind of displays the essence of what I like about Hitomi's fighting style. Effective, but not complicated. Merciless, but not needlessly cruel. Essentially, practical.

What is your main character's least favorite move? Why?

If I had to say, probably 66H+K. In direct contrast to wall 33T, it's probably the furthest thing in her moveset from what I like about her style.

Have you ever considered dropping your main character? Why or why not?

Not really. I've experimented with other characters, naturally. Not really with the intent to find a new main, just to see what my options are.

Did you have other mains in the past?

5 was my first DoA, so no. I did have a period of a few months where I played Marie more often than Hitomi, but that's about it.

How would you rate your main character personality wise? Do you like his/her personality?

I really enjoy how she is in 5. I like how energetic she is. She gets serious in a fight, but competes primarily for fun. She's spirited and friendly like in DoA3/2U, but they kept some of the goofiness she had about her in DoA4 without making her a complete airhead like in that game. I think it's a nice medium between the two, and I like it a lot.

Without getting too detailed, Hitomi is essentially a perfect representation of what I consider to be my ideal girl's appearance. Needless to say, I do like how she looks.

I think Yui Horie did a great job as her in 3 and 2U, but I'm a bit disappointed they decided to continue her squeaky performance from 4. It's not that she does a bad job doing that voice, or that I necessarily dislike that voice in her other roles, but I feel like it would be more Hitomi-like if her voice was a bit lower. Eden Riegel, on the other hand, I think does a fantastic job as her in 5, especially after a somewhat iffy performance in Dimensions.

What is your opinion of your main character's music theme(s)?
Honestly, none of her themes stand out to me as being particularly memorable. Maybe her DoA4 club remix, but even then, it's kind of...eh.

What do you think of your main character's fashion sense?

I like her very sporty manner of dress.

Her denim jacket and eagle shirt. No matter the variation, I think that jacket looks fantastic on her. It's, like, the ultimate Hitomi outfit. Special mention goes to her pop idol outfit. She looks like a train station attendant or something in it, and I've always liked trains.

If I had to say, it's between the clown outfit and the pink bikini from Tina's DoAX2 collection. The clown outfit, like I said, I like that she has a bit of silliness to her...but it just looks bad. 4. Obviously, she has nice, hard-hitting whiff punishment with moves like 46P, 236P and 4P+K, 6T can be fun to start some shenanigans for unsafe moves, but is pretty risky. If you've got your back to a wall and your opponent makes pretty much any mistake, you can 4T and instantly reverse the situation. Fun times.

How would you rate your main character in terms of offensive options (scale 1-5; 1 = poor, 5 = excellent)? Why did you choose this number?

3? She's got some mixups, and some surprisingly tricky moves like a tracking mid that crushes highs, but like I said, not really standing out as particularly good or bad...

4, I suppose. Like I said, hard hitting whiff punishment, fun throws, wall 4T, and of course her 46H, which is a mid kick hold that launches for a pretty good height.

You mist really like Hitomis voice in DOAX3, although it sorta falls on not even sounding anything like her.
