Is the offensive hold high or low?

Either way, I'm not worried. It's as simple as knowing how to react to it over time.

High. It's a jumping OH.

Also, to everyone worrying about her: remember what happened to Mila and Rachel.

Wait are you guys on about her front roll, or her c-sidestep? cuz if it's front roll, you can. Surely.

I wouldn't worry about the roll OH if I were you guys. If you've seen it, the animation is pretty damn obvious. She like jumps in the air and somersaults before it hits you ( Just think, Kasumi's 9P T ) It's not exactly hard to react to.

However, from what I've seen she has a mid kick, a low punch and now the high throw option from the roll, so it is looking like a pretty good stance. She's got all her bases covered!

I dont get the anime vibe from Lei. Kokoro, Ayane, Kasumi, This new girl Marie scream it though. Tina, Helena, Mila, Lisa, Lei all seem normal. Hitomi and Christie are on the edge.
They can all survive countless drops from insanely high drops, get kicked into ropes that shock them, explosive walls, and Ayane has the anime look down with her bright ass purple hair and red eyes, Lei Fang sounds like she came from some sort of fucked up hentai, Kasumi is the generic innocent anime girl who has to fight even when she doesn't want to, Kokoro is the nice girls best friend, but ooooooooooook you don't see the anime from them. :|

did you know that Helena's English VA is fluent in French, has dual French citizenship, and has done acting, voice dialect coaching, and all this other stuff in France? That probably had something to do with it. I'm quite a fan of her accent. Sounds fine to me. But, I sell shrimp out of the back of a van, so...

Helena's "English" voice is the best in the game for me. From my viewpoint people who flat out states it to be bad illustrates some arrogance and inability to recognize realistic quality acting from my viewpoint. There is a difference between stating "It is bad" and "To me it doesn't work". Maybe if they'd ever been to France they'd understand that it sounds very legit. Then again there will always be people that is louder than others, and that doesn't make them any more correct or wrong. Subjectivity will always vary, objectivity should be follow up with some sort of evidence or research, which you has illustrated quite well here. So I feel you sell yourself short. Selling shrimps or not doesn't take away the potential understanding for a good scientific approach or general understanding of decent evaluations on subjects.

Sorry to get off track though. When it comes to Marie I suspect it will be well as they can cherry pick 1 character not having to worry about the complete roster.

I have to admit French people are very very bad for learning new languages and our English is not so good at school - compared with Scandinavian or German students - but nobody here would have such a bad accent with such a good and sophisticated vocabulary. Like.. she could write fluently without looking for her words but her oral is just so exaggerated.
I'm not saying she should waffle but as a French speaker and English learner, that's just so funny.

Well, I used to work for an Italian material provider, where the big bosses usually came shipping in from time to time and some even worked here. These where highly educated people, and they even wrote the standards and everything in English as it was a very multinational company. Anyways, they proclaimed that they did not have the "Es" as you hear in super Mario and the likes, you know the stereotypical Italian accent. But truth be told, they where the only ones who did not hear it. They really had that stereotypical accent.

I too used to get ashamed at our prime ministers lousy English, but truth be told even if I myself can imitate some rather decent oxford English, at some point I just don't bother. I feel it takes away focus from the task at hand and the identity in the accent communicate an extra element. If you stick to real British people tend to forget who they are dealing with. I guess this is also why Scotts, Irish and the likes (US perhaps) has their own traits as well.

As for my experience with the French in particular, I've been to Paris a couple of times, 4-6 days at the time. The experience I've had is that it's only the tour guides that speak British without an accent, and I don't even know if they really was French. Also I got the impression that the people of Paris is very proud of their language and cultural heritage, and if forced to speak English (which many dislike) they will keep the dialect as an added identity. I do not know if this is an universal norm for all of France however, and it might just been a statistically coincidence, where the reality is very different from my impression.

Then again it might be a generational thing. We in Scandinavia used to be the worst before we became among the better, where people over a certain age take a serious bump in the quality specter (or might not even know it at all). So ye, I guess it is a lot of elements to consider.

Never the less I really felt Helena fit with the impression I had of how French approach English, but again when it comes to something so subjective it is difficult to underline a correct answer where there is so many variables to consider.

Here you have our own Kayane in Emperor Cow's tutorial videos for some reference:

Just to take it back to point, I REALLY hope that they add a lot of Swedish/Scandinavian in Marie's accent. That would add towards the character's identity.

I bet they'd sound more original speaking their lines with their mother language like in TTT2. Lili's French lines were great. Maybe Rig could get an option to speak lines in either French or English by DOA6.

I'm curious to know what would Rachel's Vigoorian lines would sound like in her language. XD
