Lisa is very awesome, but aside from like, 3 people on PSN, she is one of the most irritating characters to fight in lag
Who are those 3 people from PSN? Only Lisa players that don't spam with her are me, Gruff, elevateG (O.O that Lisa) and akhi216. I don't know any others. And yes she is a pain in lag but she is very hard to use in lag also.

If everyone starts using Pai, you'll regret this lol. And Brad Wong I wouldn't mind seeing him either. But honestly, I like him being a m ore rare character because he is impossible to read at high level play. Even though very good Brad Wong players piss me all the way off its fun trying to figure out "Do I duck low or high?"

I know how challenging Pai is to use and her beastly stun game so I wouldn't mind the extra experience against her. Brad Wong is really silly in lag, but the few Brad players I've encountered did try to use him properly. I also have a very solid Brad & Pai player in my scene so I know that those characters aren't as horrifying to fight as you may think. Though if you're ignorant of their abilities, they will destroy you. Brad seems to be a character that is usually used by more higher skilled players (and the occasional lag troll) due to his extremely high learning curve. He is arguably the hardest character to use in the game. Compared to the overused ninjas, I'd rather face a Pai or a Brad instead of the umpteenth Hayate or Hayabusa.

You pretty much just named them off dude lol. If you encounter any others please let me know! Never said Lisa is easy to use, she's actually fairly challenging to utilize properly because so many of her moves are just begging to be punished, more so than Ayane even.

Yea, I tried Brad's command training once and I had no idea how to get into the other stances, it would say "In handstand" or "while laying down" and I'd be like "Ok. WTF is the input for this stance?".
Right now I am training with Pai. I got her normal stuff done and now I need to practice her other stances. So many double direction inputs.... (rage)

Well, I don't know about that to be completely honest. Many of her things that would normally be unsafe cause GBs or can put her in BT stance. She is unsafe but when played carefully she can be fairly safe. Same as Ayane right, or no?

The characters I see the most are:

1. Hitomi
2. Hitomi
3. Tina
4. Christie
5. Helena

I don't see many Zack, Bass, or (thank god) Gen Fu players.

Well I mean in the form of holds or hi-counter throws as opposed to throw punishment on block. Ayane actually is a lot "safer" than her frames may perceive due to her excellent followups, that have to be respected, and crush abilities. I mean if you were to go through Ayane's frames, you'd swear that she only had, like, 4 or 5 safe moves and the rest being "unsafe" and "punishable". But yeah, she's such a great character :).

Yea I try to hit Ayane sometimes but she always crushes my highs!! She is so difficult. Aside from that, she has the best spacing in the game (is that right?) and she has good combo damage, mix ups, mind games, pressure, holds, throws-- THE WHOLE NINE YARDS!! But I can punish her sometimes but she gives me the most trouble out of the entire cast.

^ Momiji is the answer to Ayanes bullshit.. Ayane whiff's anything you hit that bitch with 66p, 4k, or 44k. Momiji has great mobility, spacing, and whiff punishing as well. Obviously Ayane is better, but Momiji can also play that game, but with less effort or she can be in your face and play a really good stun/launch counter bait game.

I just got the game a week ago and so far only accepted matches through Throwdown while I was practicing, but I encountered mostly ninjas in this order:

:hayabusa:> :momiji: > :kasumi: > :ayane: > :hayate:

I only have about 60 matches or so under my belt due to my practicing and being a newbie, so take it with a grain of salt.

As an aside, I'm having trouble deciding who to play. Excluding VF characters, who from the DOA roster most closely matches Jeffry, Pai, Eileen, and Aoi in VF5FS? I don't want to use any of the VF characters because VF is my main game, so I would simply play that if I wanted to use any of the VF characters. That and I personally hate guest characters because they're rarely tweaked to properly fit a new game engine. Look at the famed DC Comics villain Scorpion as he is in Injustice for a good example of a poorly implemented guest character.

From what little I know of Aoi, Lei-Fang would be the closest DOA-equivalent. Sabakis, advanced holds, offensive holds, good crushes, etc.

That Scorpion isn't DC Comics. That's Netherrealm Studios (Mortal Kombat series).

That was the joke. I was mocking NRS for putting Scorpion in the game even though there were a plethora of actual DC characters that the community requested after Ed Boon solicited fan requests. Although no one asked for Batgirl or Zod, at least they're actual DC characters. What made the Scorpion thing more annoying was that Boon lied. He tweeted before launch that there would be no MK guest characters and we get friggin' Scorpion as the 3rd DLC.

I think including guest characters in an established fighting game series is dumb. Either it'll be a suck fest like the Star Wars characters were in Soul Calibur 4 or characters from other fighting games will be poorly implemented when ported to a different game as a guest. At the very least, it's a lazy way to "make" a new character. Instead of actually making a new character, guest characters from another fighting game are little more than copy-paste jobs.

As far as I can speak for myself (playing mostly in EU lobbys and only on XBL), I would set up my ranking of most played characters as the following:

1. Hitomi
2. Hitomi
3. Ayane
4. Helena
5. Rig

The difference between players that know these characters and players that just smash buttons is quite balanced. In general, most Helenas and Rigs are played well. It's hard for me to rate Ayane players, because every single move of her just looks wired to me and crushes every attack I try to get on her so I cannot say if this is just luck or skill.

Curiously, the antique shop owner isn't played much here but if I got one, he is mostly played well and izuna-drops the shit out of me .

Kasumi is also picked frequently, but mostly, these people are just playing her one or two matches until they switch because they realize that they get no results on advanced players for throwing out her unsafe stuff without hesitation. So she is played sometimes, but not mained a lot.

Lol, I need to know these Busa players you find. They sound fun, especially since I just recently got into the art of Izuna Hi Counters lol.

Although, I think I'm like one of the very few actual legit Ein's in EU I have only ever met like 2 or 3 in EU that know what they're doing with him.

Also, PewPew your name looks familiar I may have ended up joining one of your lobbies

Keep an eye out for Capitano Casella for example. He's playing a very good Hayabusa in my opinion, but of course that depends what 'good' means for you. ;)

I agree that Ein is mained very rarely in EU. Since I'm always choosing him as my training dummy, I would like to see him in action more often. I'm sorry because I'm not sure if I've seen you on XBL during my time in DOA5U since I'm really bad in remembering names, but it looks like we should meet up for a fight :D
