Lag is definitely P4's worst matchup. For me she's completely unplayable in anything below 4 bars, and even at 4 bars her max damage juggle is impossible against middleweights

None of her P+Ks matter if you can't actually land a hit. That's her entire problem; all of the reasons people think she's good can't be used because she has no way to land a decent hit in the neutral game. If a character lacks good neutral tools, they're going to be bad, no matter how much shit they can do after they land the hit. That's the reason Alpha is still decent, despite being nerfed every single patch; she has one of the best neutral games around.

I have to agree here. Phase 4 has next to no real mixup game meaning that you really have to rely your opponent's mistakes to get the stuns you need. Well maybe no mixup game is not true. She does have a FEW but only off of like 2 or 3 attacks; easy enough for an opponent to anticipate unlike Kasumi's mixups.

:6::6::H+P::~::H+P:, :3::P::P+K:, Chifu :K::P+K:, Tenfu :H+P:
Must-hold set-up for :6::6::H+P::~::H+P:. If they don't hold you get the launch to air throw. If they do, you'll be at -19. Chifu :K: is un-holdable. Can mix-up with Chifu :P+K: for a deep stun or Chifu :H+P: to stop them from holding/slowescaping.

These combo challenges are taking me a long time to do each one. Chifu K > P+K>P>8K> P+K>T challenges is killing me. The I always miss the timing on Chifu K > P+K.

I get it done by paying close attention to the hit sounds. When you hear the first hit connect, hit P+K. Don't try to predict it ahead of time; you'll usually hit it too early.

Welp. I had my first matches with her online today. Started the match, and just forgot everything, lol :D Moves, combos, all that.. I only got to play against two people and only had about four matches. But it was fun! I was able to do the teleports when the opportunities came just as good as in training mode, it seemed.

One dude used Kasumi and was patient. The other one used Phase. I'm only guessing the Kasumi player was patient because of how throw punishable Phase is on block (or, he was just chillin and not trying too hard at all). So he was expecting me to just throw out random moves and strings and throw punish me for it. I had this in my mind going into online matches that some people would probably be doing this since that seems to be a highlight surrounding Phase. So what's the best thing to do against someone blocking and waiting for their throw punish? You guessed it. Throw them first, lol. After a few of these :426::P::+::h: into some lil combos that I tried to remember. He wasn't too keen on waiting for me to throw moves out anymore, lol. Which helped open up opportunities for me to start attacking now since he would be trying to beat my throws with attacks, giving me chances for landing some counter hits and entering the stun game.

The other dude was kind of 'BLARRGGH'ng' it with Phase when I blocked his moves. I don't know if he was trying to beat the throw punishes, or just being the typical online DoA player. But he was slick with Phase and was landing quite a bit of throws on me since I was just kind of standing there too with a mix of seeing what he would do, and forgetting my moves, lol :D Which in turn lead me to not going for CH punishes on against his abare, which gave him no reason to stop doing so.. He showed a nice piece of tech which was doing a :9::+::P: over my knocked down body, forcing my rising kick to go the wrong direction, which was coo.

All in all. Though it was only a few matches. I had a good time using her and definitely have some things I want to test out in Training Mode after having a couple actual matches with her now. Like what is possible to do against someone who mid holds right away after getting hit with :1::+::P: among other things that can happen when that move hits. Landing a CH with the follow up :P: seems to put them in a super deep stun, if I remember right. Which is really good for people who like to use offense for defense.

Uhg. I got interrupted, so I have to finish my thoughts later, hahah.

You've never seen a Kasumi do that? 9P BT 4P juggle.

Nope. I haven't been playing DoA for very long. Only bout 3 months, though I've had the game for about 6 months. And haven't ran into very many Kasumi's. The ones I did come across just did the ol' 'put the :P: n :K: buttons on alternate turbo, go make a sandwich and come back to see if they won' type style. For the most part. The other ones I played never did that flip move like that in okizeme.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Only other thoughts I have that I can remember is her :2::+::K: follow up after :6::+::K: getting shut down by mids after they block the initial :6::+::K: by itself, or when done after a :P::P:. So that move seems kind of pointless. Only good I see out of that sweep as of now, is that you can delay it pretty far (till her leg comes down after :6::+::K:), and with those two moves combined (the :6:+:K:,:2:+:K:), you can cover a lot of ground. Like, a lot, hahah. So maybe while standing back at a nice distance, whiffing the :6::+::K: on purpose and catch em advancing with the delayed sweep. *shrug* .. We'll see as time goes on. I'm diggin her so far though.

I was gonna say 'how have you not fought many Kasumis' but I see you're a xbox player. xD Kasumi has a great many ways to get around wake-up kicks and P4 got most of them except 9P+K.

I noticed you can't do her 9P+K when it's a 3P+K chifu. So far I've only been able to do it off of 7K chifu and 66PP chifu.

I can only guess it's because PS3 has a 'Free 2 Play' version of the game. And Kasumi is an available character for them.. But, I'm just assuming. Which is pretty risky, lol.
That's exactly it. A large amount of people I fight have CF and of the 4 ninja that are free I see Kasumi and Ayane the most.

Yeah it's like 90% ninjas on PS3 lobbies. And there was a good bit of P4 at first but it looks like most people gave up already

BTW has anyone received hate mail for P4 yet? I've noticed some people are already getting annoyed lol
