Here's a "better" shot of Ayane's new hairstyle:

Just wondering, is this a new bikini?

I have a feeling this is the same hairstyle, only from a different angle:

I'd have to revisit it again to know for sure, but I was actually pretty happy with 5 Vanilla. Aside from Leon being MIA, no one felt useless or absurdly unstoppable.
I loved the Okizeme system in 5 Vanilla. Zack, Bass, Hitomi, Helena, Brad Wong and Bayman were the FT gods, and Ground Throws were more prominent and easier to pull of, without fear of WUKs. Overall, I feel like the game was more balanced, and if they could go back to the balance of DOA5V, but keep the new moves/buffs & damage output the same, it would be really nice.

But the FT system needs to be buffed back to DOA5 standard. They could even implement the DOA4 FT system, where you could only hit the downed opponent twice before they were knocked to tech up. Zack's 3PPP was a guaranteed FT on launched opponents in DOA4 as the last P hit them whilst on the ground, and the second P slammed them on the ground like Bass' 66P.

Anyways, back to the point of the reply, DOA5V was the most balanced version, by far, and I'd like to go back to that state of balance IMO.

It's an old bikini. From DOA5V I believe, just before DOA5U's release. Something like that.

Oh really? Apologies. Maybe I should take them down then?

No need for it, there is always someone that didn't get the infos the first time that were posted (for example I never seen that third picture of Ayane) =)

But see it wasn't just the ground game. A lot of people default on that because it was a system-wide thing and it was big so it's easy to point to, but there were just so many things. I mean Eliot could get advantage off of 7P. That was scary! But now Eliot is little more than a joke. It's lots of things and while 5 vanilla was far from perfect, it never felt as outrageous as 5U does at times.

the people who were on the last video said the said that Team Ninja told them it wasn't balanced in the least and wasn't meant to be played seriously.

If they said that with any degree of seriousness it means they are basically admitting they got shafted on devtime.

But I also would've be surprised if this is the kind of answer where Tom would say one thing, and Shimbori would say another.

Guaranteed force techs are a problem in a game with no form of damage control like throw breaks. Too much vortex, especially in a system that lets you rush someone down before the round even starts, leads to overly stressful one-sided matches. Even Turbo at least made you work to close that distance.

Do certain other fighting games have far more lethal vortex situations? Yes.

Is it actually good game design? Not if you aren't working for it, no. And in DOA you don't work for it.

Sorry, I still haven't understand something (TN's marketing is a bit messy) : can I update Ultimate to LR (on PS3) and buy the two new characters ? Or is it just impossible ?

I just want to be sure. I'm SO lost.

There is a solution to this but everyone apparently decided to hate it for some reason, so instead we got the 5U system.

So any predictions on if anyone else will get a new alternate hair? Really hoping Eliot gets a new one. I know he already has 2 but TN plays favorites when it comes to those kinds of things (also TN owes it to Eliot players for putting him in shit tier). :p
