Texture Editing (PC)

I might endeavor to actually make a vintage project... but then again previous DOA games had a lack of detail and if I try to literally copy them it would stand out and look cheap.

Does anyone have Leifang's dress texture from DOA2?

Its a shame no one has been able to actually edit the 3D model yet.
What will that entail?
We're still waiting for utilities to read the model into a 3d app and then inject the changes back into the files. That would allow changes within a costume. Add/changing/mixing costumes requires a lot of difficult stuff, and we're waiting on changes to the process too.

From what I ready, the 3d importer is working at least. I haven't verified yet.

Just wondering, do were have a thread dedicated to mod releases with nothing other then download links? If not, we should. Would make it alot easier then having look though this 35 page and growing topic.

Also, whats the status of the tool that will allow us to edit the files them selves on xentex? Are they getting any closer?

That's what the Mod resource thread is for, but if it would be easier for people to post links to a thread with images & a download link that would be cool too. There are already so many mods, that there is no way to contain links & pictures in one-two posts.

It'll be a while before any kind of 'auto editor' occurs, but they are close to making mesh editing possible. Costumes can already be altered via hex. That's likely how it will remain for a while. It won't be an easy undertaking to simply make a universal costume editor.

Can you edit the actual files to make character costumes and replace textures inside the files instead of having to use Umod?

The console texture injector has not been rewritten yet, but putting modified files back into the game is possible... just depends on how savvy you are with hex at the moment. So, possible, yes, easier than uMod? not yet.
