On that point, VF’s diversity of how attacks flow from one move to another gives players a lot of freedom to play their characters with a great deal of individuality. The game also encourages players to make full use of its system, to enable them to become proficient at reading their opponents. These are all invaluable examples to follow and learn from. However, if we copied all that we’d lose the essence of what a Capcom game is, so we’ll just borrow all the good things (laughs). There’s certainly a lot to learn from VF!"

Would explain a lot of why I keep getting impostor syndrome with my game whenever I see SFV. My game has a very similar direction of influence to that of VF/DOA.

Justin has described the game as being somewhat "turn based", as in after one players offense/pressure ends, they have to stop and play neutral, possibly giving the pressure to the other player. This is interesting in that the same description has also been used to describe Virtua Fighter, combined with more than a few VF inspired things in the interface, it makes me wonder if that series does have a big influence in this game.

Honestly, when reading the description I thought of DOA as well, which had an influence from VF to be fair.

Compare Rashid and Zen Who Knows they could be related I mean we still don't know What Rashids Nationality.
Zen is Indian and Rashid is an Arab (probably from the UAE since you can see Dubai's skyline in the background of his offcial character art) ...

Continuing on from the VF influence in Street Fighter V, I found this one interesting (Start at the 11:05 mark). One of them being different animations when hitting a guarded opponent. Although it never appeared in other VF games, it did set an idea for other 3D fighters like Tekken and I think DOA as well.

Around the 11:24 mark of the video, you can see that appearing in 2D fighters like Street Fighter V for example. I thought that was interesting.

And now in the right thread (silly me posted this in the Tekken thread XD):

We now know how Guile's new design is very likely going to look. I put it in spoilers since it's from a screen capture of the character mode:

Pretty badass new look! :D

So games almost out an no real sight of Alex beyond that glitchy model leak huh?

Because it seems Alex (unfortunately :( ) is not the first DLC character to be released after the game's release. Since Guile and Balrog both seem to be important to the "story" they are probably coming first. After that I could imagine them releasing one of the girls... At least I would mix it up a little and not release all the guys and then the two women last.

The art in general is just cheap. :/ Look at his face...him being super pale and ginger now isn't that bad in comparison. XD

IIRC, I think someone mentioned that there's a playable version of Balrog that was done in secret.

That kind of talk went around at a closed-doors event a little while back. Could have been a tournament? Never any confirmation though.

I believe it was this: http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2016/...entions-first-playable-version-dlc-character/

EDIT: So, we have about a month to earn Fight Money since SF5 has no Day One DLC. The in-game store for Street Fighter V will be opening next month. Along with new content, there will be daily challenges to complete that will earn you more Fight Money.

Just when we thought black people could be shoto's :(

and can we talk about how god like this is even though im still not playing Mika. The reset meaty setup's were just beautiful. Makes the waiting irresistible. Her corner game is lit. I thought the oki game would be shit since the game allows quick rise off everything now (but it's understandable seeing how capcom doesn't want another SFIV vortex fighter). Seems you gotta experiment for your meaty setups now.

Does that mean that we won't be able to unlock the costumes of character mode as well as the preorder costumes until then? They said you have to unlock everything in the in-game shop before you can then buy it there with real money or fight money. That would really suck and confirm once again that the game is not a finished product at launch. D:

Weird that the "CG" trailer/opening wasn't even fully rendered. It used the in-game character models and assets without rendering them smooth. Nash has a pretty edgy nose...XD Ah, these are probably just cut together scenes from the upcoming story mode, that's why! Man, they really are on a budget (time and money) with this title.

Before they were saying they wouldn't be able to make a 5th game. they're able to make this becuase Sony is helping but it's possible they're still hurting pretty bad.

Why would Capcom be in such a dire financial situation? I've never heard about this before... Is there more info about this? And wasn't Street Fighter 4 with all it's iterations a quite lucrative cash cow?

They've been not so great for a while now. A lot of their latest titles have been suffering (because players can't handle reboots or sequels as they were designed) and the company in general really needed the help.
