That's not her original DOA3 default. Her original outfit has never appeared again past DOA3. In DOA2U and DOA4 it was replaced by a very similar outfit, but it's not exactly the same. The shirt she wears under the jacket in DOA3 was replaced in 2U by the yellow one that she still wears today and the jacket itself had various subtle design changes and also lost its faded color scheme.

In DOA5U/LR it was changed again because they took the lazy approach to recreate it by simply reusing her DOA5 default and just swapping the shirt textures to look like her 2U/4 shirt, and then also added her 2U/4 jacket over it. You'll notice that with her denim outfit in DOA5, she's wearing the white sneakers, worn-out jeans and studded belt of her default outfit, rather than the normal boots, jeans and belt that she used to wear.

Oh I know all that, but conceptually its identical.

Hayabusa DOA2 costume is in that case different as well since it has a scarf when it didn't before and until 2U it also didn't have the black arm socks.

Ah, okay then. Yeah, I've no idea why it was ever changed. It makes no sense. Personally, I'm not a fan of the changes with the later versions of the outfit. I think the original DOA3 version was the best.

I'd just like to point out, while it is identical to her C1 from the waist down, the tank top is noticeably different. It's not as tight as her C1 tank top, and shows less cleavage (and slightly less midriff).

I buy them so that the AI computer won't show up in the same boring clothes each and every time.

You don't need to buy the costumes for that, just get the catalogue for it and the AI will show up in those outfits at times when picked Random or in Team battle.

Oh I know that, I meant like for when I want to select them manually in Versus mode too, so I won't have to choose the same vanilla costumes.

I dont remember seeing them wear unpurchased dlc costumes in random select as well but do remember that the AI does sometimes wear them in survival too. Its really rare though.

Here's an idea for a final dlc pack and to commemorate the series' 20th year; rather than a season/costume pass, they release one big pack with every (non guest) character each getting multiple costumes, both throwback outfits and originals. Characters who have been in the series longer get more throwback stuff (the girls that have been in from the start getting the most overall) while newer ones get either more original designs or copies of outfits from other characters they have storyline connections to like Mila getting more Bass and Tina stuff or Marie getting something from Helena and so on.

Then besides allowing you to buy the pack as a whole (which would be more expensive than a pass since there would be way more costumes with the advantage being that you get everything at once rather than some per month and you get much more) or individually, they offer both character packs and game specific packs (where we can buy the costumes only for characters introduced in each major release with Rachel and Momiji get their own ninja gaiden pack, Mila and Rig get a base 5 pack and Marie till Honoka are part of a "latecomers" pack).

I can't even begin to think of what a "newcomer set" could mean but I'm excited to see! Especially if it's coming soon. If there's a trailer soon it will probably at the end also show the premium season 4 outfit and silhouettes of the next months dlc pack etc.

Yeah, that's another reason I didn't believe it, the only "newcomers" aren't new comers anymore and have had atleast a year of dlc and stuff.

Only Naotora really fits that description unless they give her a full pack, which I doubt it's that.

Half of the added characters since vanilla could easily fill up a costume pack, even though its doubtful. Ein/Leon/Rachel/Raidou/Honoka/Naotora/Jacky all trail behind Marie Rose/Nyotengu/Phase 4/Momiji for costume quantity (not popularity of course)
