Nioh General Discussion

I actually really like the idea of Sloth Talisman, but it is too strong. Perhaps if they modified the slow effect to -25% rather than -50% it would feel better.

Izuna Drop

I decided to just get hit by it and deep down, I was hit by a bit of nostalgia. When I first saw this I was a bit surprised.
Wait, so if I equip the Izuna spirit can I do this to my enemies?
*goes to check*

No they only removed the Extraction Talisman + living weapon infinite…
If they reduce the debuff strength of Sloth to -20–25% it's basically like Electrified, no? Reducing movement speed only would be the same as Makibishi, so I guess reducing attack speed only is an option.
Or the turn it into an “iron flesh” (from DS1) like thing… severely reduce movement speed, but increase dmg resistance and toughness.

Also it took 75 boss kills to get the Armor of the Exceptional Smithing Text. With +204 Luck, ~+40% Item droprate and ~+50% Human item droprate. That was the worst one so far by quite a bit…

I'm only at the 4th region. Just beat the frog mAn, that was by far my favorite level. Great design and finally got a Hayabusa looking chest armor. Unless this game takes a horrible turn in the second half, Nioh is right up there next to the first 2 NG games for me. Other than some bland looking environments; the art design, music and setting are great and meshed together so well.
The amount of loot is ridiculous. So much so I'm not sure if there is any point spending any time at the blacksmith soulmatching and forging weapons since more powerful ones always drop in the next level.
I really hope the next Ninja Gaiden game has an optional lock on system. It'll need to be modified from this games version cause it doesn't handle multiple enemies very well but my god the camera is so much better (than the camera in any NG game) because of it.
On to Ninja training in the dojo....

I don't think the frenetic style of Ninja Gaiden works with a manual lock on at all, i think it would be detrimental to the game at worst.

It would have to be like the lock on in DMC, where you hold the trigger. Like I said, I'd only want it as an available option but I'd rather hold a trigger to lock on than press it repeatedly to adjust the camera

DMC enemies are not nearly as active or agressive as NG enemies, that is why it wouldn't work, and DMC also makes enemies less agressive off camera, a thing that thankfully NG doesn't do.

To not go full off-topic, i have to say, i just want to keep playing this game more and more, i just did the war mission, i hope that lady-like Guardian spirit becomes available at some point, also, how many Guardian Spirits there are?

Also, there is one or two bosses that have wakizashi blades as their weapon, i hope a future update or dlc makes it available to the player.

This might be my last post about it, DMC is specific AIs doing specific things. It's more annoyance for tolerance with simple 2 hit deaths if you are aiming to play the harder difficulties in a standard playstyle that you would normally do on a Normal/Hard run in DMC. NG has things happening all at once that forces you to react to certain things (explosive darts spider ninjas etc.) while fighting moderate or big grunts while being on the lookout on surrounding.

Speaking of which, I platinum'd NiOh. On my way to do NG+ things.

Is the Nunchaku or flails going to be an actual thing for NiOh as upcoming DLC?

Also did a standard run on Isle of Demons with the mission level of 180.

So, after being in the endgame for a while and regularly talking to Tome/Muramasa and getting met with no new dialogue, I magically get a new one where Tome asks me how she looks in an outfit she put on ages ago. I said she looks nice, and boom! - 10 Patronage points. The fuck?

Now I'm at 55/60.

edit: ...and Platinum'd. Yay.

So I got a 320 spear forged out of like.....4 tries without even actually going for it. I was trying to forge a Divine spear since most of the spears I carry are just plain trash. Then the game was like "Oh you have trash spears? well never fear, we provide you with the highest quality of lady luck+destiny and the prayers of Kodamas fullhouse so here you go".

Huh, thank you. Not entirely necessary but sure, I'll take it.
