News DOA6 is not Returning to CEO this Year

The official main CEO game lineup for 2020 has been revealed and features 15 games, but Dead or Alive 6 is absent from one of the biggest annual events on the East Coast and will not be returning for a second go. Alex Jebailey, CEO of CEO, stated last year that if the numbers were good and the community showed up that it would come back for 2020. CEO's attendance reached 87 entrants in 2019, and XcaliburBladeZ was declared the winner in a brilliant set against the now reigning DOA6 champion, Hoodless.

With the Dead or Alive 6 World Championship out of the way, Team NINJA's main focus is going to be Nioh-2, and because of attendance, it's quite possible Team NINJA could completely pass on a second season of their circuit. Team NINJA provided a very generous 90,000 USD prize pot for the championship, but now it is the player's turn to put the work in to keep DOA6 relevant even though it is Team NINJA's responsibility to make sure their fighter-base is happy through terrific gameplay, balance adjustments and more mechanical game changes.

These "promised" adjustments have not yet shown themselves through the regular updates, and many dedicated players in the community are worried that a purge of sorts will begin with turnouts getting worse, players questioning the current DLC offerings and wondering if the game will ever look as good or play as creatively as Dead or Alive 5. Players will have their chance to gun for Dead or Alive 6 at 'Final Round 2020' this March, with major players, like Crazy Steady; expected to show up at this prestigious & staple tournament for DOA.

A comeback can be expected if Team NINJA comes through with their promises. The Dead or Alive: Xtreme Venus Vacation character will likely delight the 8,000 player average on Steam alone and through sheer numbers, this sexy spin-off has eclipsed the official fighting game in popularity and could do something good for DOA6 on her own. Those hoping for Leon will have to wait, but Team NINJA is showing that they want to bolster their numbers of happy players when the time is right.

TN gives less fucks about Ein than they already do Leon. At least they put effort into Leon and update and enhance his moveset while giving him new tools whenever they include him in new games where as they do jackshit for Ein other than copy and paste his DOA2 moveset and simply adjust/change properties of those moves(usually for the worse) in each game hes appeared in post-DOA2. Dude didn't even have a proper 1p tracking low in 5U until a later update o_O

Tbh every game does that... They copy and paste their move set from the previous game and adjust and change properties. It's also not unheard of for certain attacks to not have proper tracking till a later update, Kasumi's 6K and P+K didn't even track till like a later DOA5 update and P+K used to be a high in doa3

So nobody wants to travel and play this shit if there's not a big chunk of money on the line, just like I predicted. :)

First: Not a hard prediction to make. If money like that leaves a game there will be players that leave no matter what the title.

Second: You haven't seen the numbers for upcoming events to make that statement quite yet. If Final Round is below 50 it will be really unfortunate.

The game simply isn't popular enough in its current state. Not trying to disagree with you because I see your point. I'm just bringing up the different variables.

It's not surprising that DOA6 is getting dropped but it is still somewhat sad to see. And the side game has that many more people playing it than the main game??!! That is pretty bad but also not surprising when that game has more effort put into it, has many events, and has more official streams for it.

DOA6 needs a MAJOR overhaul though, a bigger one than the one SC6 received. TN should know by now that no one outside the DOA community cares about the game so they should just add in what DOA players want like Ein and Genra. What happened to them in the story doesn't matter, especially when you take DOA6's story into account. Just satisfy the current DOA player base.

Even when money was on the table it barely drew people in. The game itself is the big issue.
