The game’s dynamic interactive stages include the return of classic fan favorites as well as new locations from the NINJA GAIDEN series such as Sky City Tokyo, and features deadly new danger zones, including the Great Buddha Statue, that change with the flow of the fight.

Yooooooo GET HYPE!! Sounds like we getting some old stages. And I seen two Ninja gaiden stages. one in the video obviously and one at the end with leon. Which would be the second level in NG3

Btw here is the press release.

Team NINJA, today confirmed that DEAD OR ALIVE 5 ULTIMATE is being developed for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.

The game will be published by Tecmo Koei Europe this fall as both retail packaged goods and digital download. DEAD OR ALIVE 5 ULTIMATE heightens the signature DOA fighting style with the inclusion of all of the new modes from DEAD OR ALIVE 5 PLUS, new stages and new fighters, including the first ever DOA appearance of Momiji and levels from the NINJA GAIDEN series to deliver the best in fighting entertainment.

“DEAD OR ALIVE 5 ULTIMATE is a great addition to our franchise,” said Yosuke Hayashi, Team NINJA leader. “The game has a lot to offer and we’re excited that our fans will have the opportunity to enjoy an experience that delivers on our signature high energy fighting entertainment.”

DEAD OR ALIVE 5 ULTIMATE is the definitive DEAD OR ALIVE 5 package, with new content aimed to bring players the best 3D fighting experience to date. The addition of modes from DEAD OR ALIVE 5 PLUS, including “Skill Info Plus” and a tutorial mode, will allow novice and expert fighters to refine their fighting style with razor-fine precision.

Players will take on the roles of their favorite DEAD OR ALIVE fighters—as well as combatants new to the franchise—in an intense, action-packed brawler set in visually striking locations from around the world. The game’s dynamic interactive stages include the return of classic fan favorites as well as new locations from the NINJA GAIDEN series such as Sky City Tokyo, and features deadly new danger zones, including the Great Buddha Statue, that change with the flow of the fight.

Characters in DEAD OR ALIVE 5 ULTIMATE continue to push a sensual yet realistic style, rendered in incredibly lifelike detail bringing every fighter to life in the heat of combat. The dream lineup is joined by the first ever appearance of NINJA GAIDEN’s Momiji who utilizes the Hayabusa-style Aiki-jujitsu taught to her by the master himself, Ryu Hayabusa.

Soon to be announced additional characters will also add to the massive cast of fighters from DEAD OR ALIVE 5 which includes Ryu Hayabusa, Hayate, Ayane, Kasumi, Hitomi, Bayman, Christie, Lei Fang, Zack, Kokoro, Bass, Rig, Jann Lee, Helena, Lisa, Brad Wong, Eliot, Tina, along with Akira, Pai and Sarah Bryant from the Virtua Fighter series.

Along with a plethora of single-player modes including story mode, DEAD OR ALIVE 5 ULTIMATE will retain Online battles allowing players to compete head-to-head in a variety of playing fields and battle modes with another opportunity for fighters to improve their skills as they watch competitive matches.

Currently in development by Team NINJA, more details about DEAD OR ALIVE 5 ULTIMATE will be revealed in the coming months.

I'm surprised no one else dislikes her stance. I imagined something closer to Hayate's/Lars's (from Tekken) since her spear stance is something like that in NG.

In fact, a lot of the stuff looks like they took the mocap from NG and placed it right into this. Like her shoho for example, when she pulls her arm out of Kasumi, her arms move like she's holding the spear in her hand still.
I'm not very found about her style either with her hands all open and shit and also when she pulls her arm out of Kasumi it looks very fake hopefully they'll change that, hopefully.

It's possible that ground-based stuns no longer affect characters in the air in Ultimate. System changes are possible and being in the air on the raft, depending on the move, already doesn't affect things. Try doing an Izuna and being in the air when the raft hits and let me know what happens. I could be wrong but I'm almost certain that neither character gets affected in that situation.
I got you man, so what happens is: With a regular izuna, in the launch phase it'll knock the opponent out of your grip before you even get them in the air. If you're mid air, both for you go toppling straight to the ground just like with the helicopter. I'll try the shoho next.

You're forgetting how weird DoA5 is about the aerial state. Poor Hayabusa gets low kicked out of aerial moves for days.
THIS. THIS needs to reassessed. If anything makes Hayabusa weaker than before, it's getting just 2p'd out of a COMPLETE low crush. Hayate and a lot of other characters face this too, but at a low punch is a low punch and a low crush is a low crush.

EDIT: One of the pictures released today shows a stumble stun when the hand comes down so nothing is really definite. It definitely causes a stun and we don't know how U will handle that situation. I'm leaning towards that environmental stun causing the knockdown. Since Kasumi's move is new it's possible that isn't the last kick in the string, either.
All true. I'm still hyped to see what goes on. I'd hope it's a change to the oki game. I'd LOVE if it was a change to the oki game.

Team Ninja isn't going to add a dangerzone that fucks you up mid combo at random. They made sure the zones didn't act like that in 5. No reason to give Kasumi a new kick if doesn't do anything new either, since it looks like it hits the same height.

Just applying logic to the situation.
The reason is 66KK is wayyyy too slow. It's hold bait. But either way in the end there are 4 kicks. 66KK, and the second kick of the 66K that impacts after the intial hit. She even lands differently. So yea I think there is a reason, I'd imagine it either jails or it's just there to interupt quicker. Maybe unsafe and a setup for this small juggle situation. It could also be reason to make 66KK unholdable if at all. It'd mean you'd have to consciously create your own punishment ideas. Will you throw after you divert from it? Will you go for the guaranteed NH stun. Will you use the advantage to setup a guard break for a BETTER guaranteed follow up? These are the possibilities.

Also, the raft hitting the rocks is a prime example. The helicopter in the warzone stage was a big one. Tigers are still there, just easier to know they're coming. The stone pillars at the back of the original first DOA5 stage (the one with the cliffhanger)

The stun is caused by the hand. Yes I see the second kick, but she is clearly knocked down by the environment.

Its a new move. Its not the hand. And for future reference for anyone wondering, Dangerzones never cause situations like that while in stun either. Especially with that kind of animation.

And here we go!

That was all amazing to me and is enough incentive for me to get back into the game again. That little trailer confirmed new characters, stages and costumes which is what I've been hoping for.

I really love how they continue to support their game instead of shunning it and moving onto something else. They're sticking by it which is really good to see i think.

I am probably asking for too much here and getting a little carried away with all of this but,

Aoi? ;) She has all the holds and counters to fit in Dead or Alive right? Would it be unrealistic to think she could make it in? I mean how were the VF characters received?

One thing that bugs me in DOA5 right now is the mid crush properties on some moves. I think there should be a few more true mids. Only being able to rely on 6 moves consistently with against Brad comes to be a hassle when he gets full access to his move set at all times.
