I have no problem with VF or Shenmue, but it's not called VF6, DOAV v VF or DOA w/ Clown ensemble. It's DOA5:U. Is it too much to ask to have DOA characters in it instead of having 1/3 the roster being consumed by TN's fanboy love for ancient Sega products? If I wanted to be Ryo, I'd play shenmue. If I wanted the whole cast of VF, I'd go play VF. Enough with the guests.

You may now rage if I have somehow offended you.

I'm still going to be hopeful that Ryo Hazuki will be in DOA5U, but I doubt it. xD If he's not in that game at least he might be returning in some way. I'm just excited that Shenmue is even being brought up again.

I might get a lot of hate for this, but I would prefer Ryo over Rachel and Tengu. I've only played a little bit of NG, but from what I've read online Rachel isn't that interesting to me. Her outfit is way over-sexualized and she reminds me of Christie. I'm sorry if that offends anyone, that's just my opinion.
Tengu on the other hand I find interesting, but not as much as Ryo (and yes I have played all the DOA games so I know how Tengu fights.)
My preference for who I want in the game goes something like this: Ryo > Irene > Tengu > Rachel

You mean Christie reminds you of Rachel because Rachel came out first LOL.

DOA3 = 2001
NG1 = 2004

So no, Christie came first.

LOL.... Ninja Gaiden was in production in 1999.

In 1999, Team Ninja started work on the "Next-Generation Ninja Gaiden Project".The first stage of development was to create the game on the Sega NAOMI arcade system board. They then planned to move the project to the Dreamcast console for further development and release, but this was abandoned when Sega announced the end of Dreamcast product line in 2001. At this point, Tecmo decided to release Ninja Gaiden as a launch title for the Sony PlayStation 2 in the United States. Itagaki, however, had other plans; the Team Ninja Leader was impressed with the software development kits for the Xbox and pushed for his team to develop for the Microsoft console.The company kept silent on this change in direction, and surprised both the games industry and fans when they announced at E3 2002 that Ninja Gaiden would be released exclusively on the Xbox gaming console. Most fans who voted on Tecmo's poll wanted the game on theNintendoGameCube.

Ninja Gaiden being in production does not prove anything in regards to Rachel's origins, much less negate the fact that DOA3 could have been in production before it.

BLAZE: DR2K basically covered it, but even if that was the case and somehow Rachel was conceptualized before Christie, we still got Christie before Rachel, and thus logically Rachel should remind the public of Christie, not the other way around.

Not that either reminds me other the other, though. Christie is cool and Rachel is putrid shit.

edit: didn't know it would auto-tag a member doing that. Was talking to Blaze_incarnated, not whoever "blaze" is.

But how can Christie be designed before DOA2? That wouldnt make sense...

There's no proof Rachel was either, which is the point.

TL;DR: There's no way to know which design came first, but the public was presented with Christie before Rachel.

Besides: you said Rachel "came out" first, not "was designed first." Christie "came out" first; that part is undeniable.

Even if she did, that's not my point. My point is Christie is already in DOA and I, personally, don't want another girl like her in the series. I think Christie is an acceptable "hoe" character because at least her seductiveness has purpose; she seduces people for her assassination jobs and to get information. She already has the "snake" theme which apparently Rachel shares, and Rachel's outfit has been made into a costume for Christie. I feel like Christie, in a way, already represents Rachel in the DOA games.
That's just my opinion.

Rachel is more focused on being a nuisance and dysfunctional retard than a hoe. She just forgot her clothes when she went to work is all.

Rachel doesn't act like a "hoe" she has a completely different personality. The only thing they have in common is one costume and a hairstyle.

She doesn't even have Rachel's exact costume. Its just a cheap mock up copy. Which goes to show Christie's character.....
