Soooo I just got this game. I'm still not finished but I do have one question for the more experienced here...When do I attack the Alchemist enemies? D: I have no problem dodging their attacks but I take for-fucking-ever to kill them since they seem to block or dodge even when it seems like they're vulnerable. What should I be looking for?

Also the T-Rex boss was disappointing as hell. I was so stoked to fight a FRICKIN DINOSAUR!!!!111! but then it ended up being the most boring fight in the entire series. My heart is broken.

Other than that this game is pretty cool

Get the sythe and spam 360Y on everything

First, sadly, g-gill's suggestion does work. That said you likely don't have the Scythe or at least don't have it leveled enough to use that move. Also, Alchemists will block that move if they have a charge...

So regarding the Alchemists (the mages, not the ones with the rapier), you can dodge at them, hit Y and hold it (to guard break and start charging your UT), then release when you have a level one charge. Keep doing that over and over until they die. On lower difficulties it only takes about three to do the trick. You can fight them normally but they will dodge out of longer combos and counter you. If they have any sort of charge you need to hit them with a move that uses Y to knock their charge out. You can't do much about the dodging, but the UT spam method generally isn't dodged by them.

As for the T-Rex, just don't jump when you dodge him. If you stay on the ground while dodging he behaves properly and knocks himself the fuck out with the quickness. If you jump it messes up his AI and he stops running a lot.

Friend was struggling with volfs guard breaks so I made a video for him, thought id post it here as well in case anyone finds it useful:

Most probably already know this who played the previous games but to anyone who is new to the series, if your guard is broken you can let go of L1(ps3) and repress it and it will block the next hit

Got the game earlier this week. Cheesed out and beat the game on Hero (lol, so much silliness) to unlock all the initial stuff, but I am doing the Chapter Challenges on Normal. Still getting used to all the dodging. Loving Ayane and Kasumi, but Momiji's taking a bit to get used to.

By the way, those Day 2A duelist guys... I need help, and all I hear is 360T-spam. Are there specific openings I can look for?

UT spam or loop them with SST or SSSTS I think

Thanks, tried this tonight and it worked really well. Finally got S rank for time \o/

I just finished Day 7, so I guess I'm close to finishing the story. I have to say, I thought I would hate the QTE stuff but it's not as bad as I'd heard. I mean, destroying all those ships in was kinda cool.

That said, I'd be totally okay with never seeing a QTE in NG ever again.

The QTEs were much worse in vanilla NG3.

Is there a reliable way of killing the Assassin's Creed duded with Momiji and Kasumi¿ Every time they appear on a trial I have to just charge UTs because X attacks are blocked and Y ones are avoided automatically. Help¿

Toss a shuriken and attack them normally while they're in block stun. Momiji can reliably land XXYYY every time and Kasumi can land XXXYY. Rinse and repeat. You can also do UT spam if it's one on one but you can't release the UT until they dodge back and then lunge forward to fire their alchemy blast (white ball thing). They're invulnverable until that point.

EDIT: The above is assuming you mean the mini-Regents with rapiers. If you mean the actual Regent or the normal Alchemists, let me know.

I mean both the mini-Regent with rapiers and Alchemists... you know the Assassin's Creed-looking dudes that shoot black cube thingies and blue fireballs

with Kasumi, use running YYXXX->Y

You can also use the ukifune, though it's a bit trickier.

hey guys, I didnt get Ninja Gaiden RE on its release date because I didnt feel that the game was that good for me to buy right on day 1 (unlike ng/ng black), so the price is now more acceptable and Im gonna get it, but I have a question,I heard that the pre order bonus costumes were just exclusive for 3 weeks (I think), so this dlc costumes were made avalable after this time, the problem is I dont see it on xbox marketplace for download, but I heard u can get this costumes on the game menu for free, all u need is the online pass, something that Ill have because I only buy new games, can u guys tell if this information is correct plz

You'll need a special pre-order code separate from any code that comes with the normal version of the game. Mine, for example, was printed on the Gamestop receipt. These costumes include the green Infiltrator for Ayane, the ugly white one with the Tie for Momiji and the Tropical Sailor for Kasumi. The Epigonos (sp?) Fiend Ryu costume can only be unlocked if you have a vanilla NG3 save on the machine. All other costumes can be unlocked in-game via crystal skull/scarab collection or by completing Ninja Trials with Momiji and Kasumi.

yeah it seems its only free for ps3 EU, cant find anything on xbox =´( (that information I got is probably fake) I realy want that costume for ryu.thanks for taking the time brute

Well I'm officially done with this game

100% completed now bring me NG4

I agree and leave everything out that had anything to do with ninja gaiden 3 or RE, well keep the scythe lol and the 360 shuriken. Base the game off the ngs2, and 1 engine. If any thing it would be nice to have a dlc for ngs2 where you play all the levels from ngs1 and 2 but you have all the weapons from ngs1 and 2 as well.

The SoB mechanic is the best thing to happen to the Ninja Gaiden franchise since the 2004 reboot and there are other things about RE that I absolutely love. Downing on RE wholesale is awfully close-minded.

Going back to NGS2 after playing NGRE for months I honestly had more fun playing MN3 trial with you then all of NGRE

Shows how much better the combat system in ng2 is, and oh yea block actually works

lol. and the dodge works very well as well. I guess the best way to describe this game when it comes to fighting is I can play either very offensive or defensive unlike RE where unless you have the scythe you are running away 99% of the time.

I'd rather not,it still is a cheap way to take out a bunch of enemies out at once giving them an escusce to send out 100 freaking guys when I only want a handful who know what they are doing on the screen at once.

It also dumbs down the combat before when you saw a guy you knew you were going to have to get near him and actually fight to take him out,now just wait for a grab.
