  • I feel like Kokoro is an underrated character
Soooo... I don't think pressure characters are for me, I can't seem to play aggressively :[

There's also something called 'defensive pressure'. Leifang, Marie Rose and Bayman excel at pressuring in a defensive manner because all their options make it very hard to open them up.

I know leifang is definitely scary. All those parries....
Oh high ranked players, teach me your ways. If you do I promise it'll only take me a few years to learn.

Online: where your negative guard breaks spawn advantage! lolol

Exactly! I feel so dumb and mashy if I play online

^ That pretty much sums up the general online experience with DOA. Offline is a whole different ballpark, which I'm certain Colver can attest too. I'm not hating on "online warriors" or being elitest when I'm saying online is not legitimate in the least and does not constitute serious competition.
I feel like I shouldn't be doing ranked matches anymore, I can't deal with lag and mash :c it just ends up irritating me

Yeah that's why I'm impartial to rank. Cause they pretty gems wouldn't be a bad thing to have, but if I have to play like I don't know what I'm doing to get those pretty ranks, they seem a lot less pretty. So I might hop on ranked every few months, but it's not to play seriously, by any means.

Definitely. I also got S's in Vanilla & 5U and can't be ass-bothered in LR (I guess I'm stuck an LR LOL). I can only imagine how it would play out if I play 95% of the people on Ranked, offline.

I was a rank feind in Ultimate. I had a Sapphire on my main account and a Topaz on my sub account. You have a lot of free time during school breaks and when there are no good lobbies up.
    How do you Leifang properly?

Playing her defensively is the way to go. I recommend 4P+K (raw Unshu), her parries, her expert holds and all her sabaki's (44P, 6P+K and 236P). If you learn her defense, you're more than halfway down the road, imo.

Her parries kill meeee. You really have to know strings to make the best of her parries, I guess.

    Mash 3P+K, 1P+K, 46P, 4P+K and expert holds.
You know, you have such a good name. You know how much I love salty chips...? A lot. lol

Why didn't I think of a yummy snack for my name? I'd be Soft Bite Cookies
so I've seen that people are picking up ninjas and just turtling for the entire fight? Is this really a tactic?

If they're winning, why not? Also, "turtling", as you put it, is a term that a lot of us hear and just laugh at, like "spamming". If you're getting spaced out, not just by a ninja, because characters like Jann Lee can control space very well, too, I suggest you pick a character that can close space, themselves.

@KING JAIMY Lol, "everything" is a lag tactic online, because nothing is legitimate in that environment.

I think it's hard for me to pick up a character that's good with spacing mainly because 90% of the cast doesn't interest me lol
Ugh learning the frames for every character can be tedious; especially with my low attention span and bad memory.

Knowing the frame data for the game's roster is important. It's only a waste of time if you have no intention of actually learning it. It will make the difference of knowing if you're being frame trapped or not, for one.

@iHajinShinobi I've started learning the frames, and it's really helping in knowing what can and can't be punished. I'm just taking it a character at a time:-)
Playing with a character I'm not used to makes me freeze up when my opponent pressures me..... lol Need to work on that.
