  • Hey man I was wondering what is a good way to go on about improving defense? This is one of my major problems as I get attacked by moves that go from high to low/mid.

Honestly though, I really need help as even my spacing can use work too. Would probably help if I had a better understanding of the mechanics.

Sorry for the late reply. Defense mainly comes with watching your opponents habits and string recognition.

As for spacing you should take a look at some of the links I put in my Ein guide. There's a load of information on spacing and footsies contained in those links.

Ah I see I know from watching your opponents patterns however, Im a bit unfamiliar with certain strings some people use that go from high high to mid. Maybe I should go over characters command training to get more familiar with everything?

And I will be sure to check your thread out. Thanks for the info :)
Hey, I had a question. How do you do that really fast backdash you use with Ein?

    Korean backdash is 214 repediately

Okay. I thought so but when you do it you move so quickly lol I always fumble somewhere and mess it up.

It helps to set your sidestep to the button input. From there its all muscle memory.
I was thinking, how do you think Ein vs Tina is in CQC?

Tina's 1P and crushing mids are strong against Ein in CQC. Ein Can hold his own with the +1 from 2P IMO though. I would say she is slightly better than him in it due to her having better strings + the crushes.

I was actually thinking it was pretty even but slightly in Tina's favor because of her i12 hold3p (I dont know his frames so I thought it was like Hitomi's lol). Anyway, who is Ein's most favorable MU? Or is all his MUs 5-5 and 6-4 (disfavor)?

I think the Tina mu with Ein is even. I just think Tina is slightly better than him in CQC. So far the only advantage MUs I have for Ein are Brad Wong and Eliot. Everything else is Even and he has like 10 disadvantage MUs. I have a list in his forums.
Hey I hope you don't mind answering a question I have, but I saw on JKT's profile where you mentioned there a shortcut to knowing the frames without having to memorize every single number. Is that true? Would love to know this shortcut.

and usually moves that are +9 or greater come from stuns in my experience

Yeah I think I feel the same way when keeping this mind. Knowing that I can punish a move with 7 frame grab if it really negative past -8 on block. Like if I see Kasumi's 66kk I already know it unsafe and punishable by a 7 frame grab.

Yeah stuns I know give great advantage anywhere from +9 all the way up to +40. Though just going by stuff on block don't think anything goes past +9 well I think certain moves when charged give that type of advantage and I think Sarah too. I know MIla's 66p is +7 on block.
Why do you think Ein is better than Lisa? Not disagreeing because I'm actually interested in this and want to hear your side.

I guess I was moreso using the exp I had vs players that use her on PSN than looking at their actual tools.

Ah ok. I was expecting a real discussion (honestly ready for war :p). Ein is better than her in a few places. Maybe spacing or something. He does have better stuns though, she really lacks in lift stuns and deep stuns.

yes that much is true. As for the spacing I think they are both pretty good. Lisa has really strong tools for keepout and 1P while slow is a ranged high crush with string followups.
