about how practical steel on bone is. I admit, it is probably easier to just sit around and wait to the steel on bone grabs, and just chain them. But there are enemies that you can't SoB, to start with, there are enemies that trying to go for SoB is risky at UN (claw chimeras). CONT.

And unless you're using kasumi, you still have to wait for the chance to SoB, or force delimbs and then SoB, which is not the most fun. I had much more success in the game using silly stuff like windpath, or throwing shurikens around, abusing my OL moves. CONT.

bruh, let me stop you right here, you don't need to type out this essay on the science of NG3RE because at the end of the day, i don't care. the game is shit, everyone knows it, you and like 5 other ppl on the planet have found merit in it and that's cool, but really im not invested enough to hear this out

and using powerful attacks with bigger area of effect. I really can't blame people that limit themselves to SoB, it is a broken mechanic as it is, but you don't need it, at all, you can just use all your other mechanical options.

My issue with NG3 is the progression. It's a linear path and I don't feel as adventurous with that one compared to NG1 and NG2. NG1 felt like some sort of journey of getting power and revenge about what happened to Ryu and the village, to me I was hooked on that and played it multiple times because of how fun the journey was.

Go to Muramasa's shop to upgrade your weapons, buy healing, give him the Dragon's Eye, puzzles in areas like the Aquaducts with statues. Like every moment was badassery and fun to explore. The one game where it had decent fun gameplay at the time, but an enjoyable portion story to boot with exploration. NG3 didn't click for me as hard as that one.

its funny cause storywise and gamplay wise NG3 feels like a throwback to the classic NES ninja gaiden, with the more linear gameplay and story where ryu is more a side character in someone elses story rather it being about him like in NG 1 and 2. and that could work if gameplay was worth a dam, which sadly, it is not

All of sudden I'm not so eager to play this game anymore. Not that I could even if I wanted to.

While I do hate NG3RE's gameplay with a passion, I wouldn't shit on the game so much if it had other redeeming factors. The big problem is that it has to rely solely on the gameplay because it's levels, enemy design, music and everything else are shit. The one saving grace is that it's the most structurally competent NG game with respect to modes (Chapter select, character select, co-op missions, etc.)

In order for me to look past all that, RE's gameplay would have to be second-to-none. In reality, it's jerky, random, and unsatisfying. So why would I want to sit my ass down for hours and learn how to get better at it when literally everything about its predecessor outclasses it?

The answer is that I wouldn't.

Well, that is the thing, i don't think that NG2 and sometimes even NGB are better than NG3RE, gameplay wise. In NG2 i hate its performance, i hate how the combat is focused around GT's, OT's and UT chaining, and i hate its enemy design with passion.

NG black, is great, but all the alma boss fights, to all the parts from the ice/lava caves and foward, i just don't enjoy playing how the game works, level structure or enemy design.

back in 2012 i made a video detailing everything that was wrong with NG3, i find it imma upload it, cause while i could go on forever about why NG3 is shite, maybe this old 15 minute video can do so in a more concise fashion

is not like i've been dealing with that kind of stuff ever since i got the game.

I generally found the "humanoid" bosses in the NG games to be more fun than the big-ass monsters that barely flinch when you hit them. Though in general, the NG games' boss battles are more fun than the boss battles in most action adventure games thanks to the much more engaging AI and sharp controls.
