You do know that KT created TN and that everything TN produces is funded and published by KT right? every franchise TN produced such as Nioh, Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive are in the end indirectly produced by Koei Tecmo.
The publishers decide what game they want to publish and what kind of game they want the producers (in this case TN) to create in order to publish it. DOA, Nioh and NG are all products of KT.
Honestly, I'd rather not have marussya in the Nioh community. Casuals with psuedo-edgy attention grabbing spam in place of a personality are a better fit for gacha, anyway.
Turns out Nioh has a lot of idiosyncratic innovation in how its inspirations come to together to forge a unique identity, and that a community has formed around the quality game franchise as a result. You'd know that, of course, if you bothered to actually play it and learn the game's complex mechanics instead of trying to incessantly amass as much disdain as you can on an internet forum.
@Brute This game was made one time, the sequel is just copypaste. I don't see difference between 1 and 2. And developers haven't good ideas for next one. Director said some ideas connected with Irish culture, but wtf, this game is all about Japanese setting. So if 3rd would be released ,it will be failure and franchise will be closed asap
@Brute The problem is priorities of developers. Remember how doa6/nioh 2 was announced almost in one day. And when they made doa6 tgey were in hurry, we had playable build after a few days after announcement. And while Nioh had only one teaser for almost a year. What was the reason for making game so soon? The reason is they needed money while Nioh in long, quality development.
I'm sure the new DOA has meter and all, but the core gameplay is mostly the same as previous DOAs so wouldn't that also be copy and paste as well?
If Nioh 1 and Nioh 2 did extremely well and keeps up that pace, then why do you think Nioh 3 will fail? because you don't like the game? the game does have it's own community and it's getting bigger by the minute, much bigger.
Maybe because of budget? bad publicity+stigma in it's entirety that they got tired putting effort into it? KT not really giving a shit about DOA and just using it as a test dummy? or maybe because it's a FG problem vs other genres? (or maybe all issues together) who knows. Fighting games are niche. It's very possible they shifted because the other genre is far more popular, makes a lot of bank behind it for a reason.
@DestructionBomb stigma is a reason for bad quality game, poor guys, of course it's not their failure and they're tired lol so we are so tired that we are switch to other game and be pretend that one of their franchise isn't existed. With that way we are not getting Ninja Gaiden because we had DOA girl in it
@DestructionBomb bad budget? So in past maybe Hayashi should ignore fans who wanted X3, because it led to gacha who made more money for KT than main series.
@DestructionBomb ok fighting niche genre, but where is Ninja Gaiden so? This game skipped entire generation. Team Ninja are good at slash games. So what the problem to make Ninja Gaiden then
"I don't see difference between 1 and 2. "
Well, if you'd bothered to play them, your confusion would be cleared up pretty swiftly.
Also, pretty funny critique after you just cited Venus Vacation.
