How exactly? I mean ayane is her sister but she really has no importance to the overall story. Her being Ayane’s sister is not relevant to the overall plot. Especially when you consider NiCO only USED her and Ayane for testing. Honoka is just leverage to enhance Ayane and Raidou’s storyline. Honoka is nothing more than a sample for NiCO’s experiment. She has no relevance outside of it.
@Onryoki Honoka influence Ayane s personality. I don't remember Ayane caring about people who she knew not long ago. Also Honoka encounter other fighters for usage their moves for her own style. She met famous doa fighters and had practice with them
No they are popular because porn/echi/paizuri/loli whatever, to the majority of the DOA fan base that is not FSD. boobies I like boobies. Kawaiii. follow me on deviantart best DOA community there.
Marie brings a new fighting style with unique animations that are generally well-animated (her gameplay *could* be interesting if they'd just bother to make it work right). That's offering about as much as anyone else in the series.
You can thank DOAX3 Voting Poll for these 2 girls popularity since they were the cover girls for DOAX3 & DOAXVV, and would make sense to have both of them to be part of DOA6. If I was developing a DOA fighting game, Marie & Honoka would be default choice (regardless what importance of story they have).
Idc about a volleyball spinoff game. That might be your thing but not mine. They could easily separate the 2 and leave Marie and Honoka for the DOAX series.
Its not what you care or what I'm into, it was about how Marie & Honoka were popular along with their inclusion for DOA6. These 2 started as extra characters for DOA5, which their popularity sky rocket for covers, promotion, & merchandise. Separating them or keeping them in spin off (Marie & Honoka) is not what anyone in charge would do.
TBF, we need different people in charge, because the decisions of the people in charge were horrible throughout nearly every corner of DOA6.
There's a way to make Marie main/popular and not full-blown cringe, but we're probably not going to see it in this lifetime.
