The game doesn't even have characters that do shit outside the box. It's slow, uninspired, and there's zero emotion. There's 0 hype for when you win, 0 salt for when you lose. If that's what they want FGs to be....the genre has little time left. We need spectacle, not, oh, hold my hand, FGs are scary, I want everyone to win and have 0 personality when doing so. GG strive? Wah! Wah! Ranks make me nervous!

Hell, we didn't even mention FEXL, which has questionable DLC practices here and there but it was 60 for all Game+DLC (Chars & Cards) and 40 entry. Added ROLLBACK. Game has trials, tutorial etc.

My bad, I had FEXL on my mind but only said Fantasy Strike (though both apply anyway). My answer @human013 to your last response would be: All of the Above. GBVS has: "overpriced DLC" characters, lacks content for its price tag, said content is nothing special, and the roster lacks the depth to get away with releasing with only 11 characters.

With regards to the DLC characters, the prices (excluding Beelzebub), are on par with other games that overprice their DLC. ArcSys is milking. Why does Narmaya and the others cost $9.49 CAD when she could've easily been in the main roster or cost $3.99 at worst like with Beelzebub? ArcSys doesn't get a pass on GBVS because this isn't some super original FG. It's basically a reworked anime fighter using Cy Games' IP.

BBTAG's DLC doesn't really come off as that cheap either when you take into account that it's almost completely reused sprite assets. If all the sprites were of the same quality as the RWBY characters, I'd be more lenient.

@Hold_Junkie93 An update for a game that has existed for over a decade vs a game that just came out. If you really can't understand the difference between them then I cannot help you. GBVS could have skipped adding, alt weapons, Eng dub, unique interactions, lobbies, or anything else but they did not. Those games also don't look anywhere as good as GBVS.

Now that's a lot of salt talking lol.

And it's the hot new word again. Rollback lol

@Force_of_Nature I like how you can only say "it is because I say so" and can't actually point out anything. Too bad I'm not like other people here who instantly believe things just because a person says so. GBVS was worth $60. SG is worth the $2 I paid for it. The other games aren't even worth playing. Sure, I'll take your word for it Mr. Developer, voice actor, character modeler, animator, etc.

If BBtag's DLC was not cheap for you then I can't help you with that.

If I have pointed out anything then you haven't pointed anything out either eh? Glad that you found GBVS worth the $60 USD. I hope we get more $60 USD games with only 11 characters, shallow depth & so-so content. BBTAG's DLC is cheap if you like paying for reused sprite assets. Doesn't change the fact that you're paying for reused sprite assets.

It also would cost me $33.49 CAD if I would want to try out just Neo for instance. Pretty much any other fighting game would have higher quality DLC characters than BBTAG's. The game's graphics aren't exactly high quality for majority of the game. It's your perogative if you think the other games aren't worth playing (which reflects your taste).

You made the claim that GBVS lacked content but can't even name anything that is missing. Then you avoid the question and move the goalpost when you made the claim in the first place. I know you guys love to bail out when asked to provide evidence but c'mon lmao. If it's missing something you should have no issue pointing to it. Unless...
human013
human013
Then I'm suppose to believe you who claim creating new characters in GBVS is suppose to be easy because you're a game developer or something. More baseless claims with no evidence... And then other random things like depth now factor into the price? wth? lmao. You are trying way to hard pulling these strange conditions out of nowhere.
human013
human013
You play SC6 and DOA6 too right? I hope those games and every other game you play don't reuse assets. And I'm not missing out on anything by skipping Power rangers, fantasy strike, or FEXL.

I'll humor you with the Narmaya DLC. A completely new character model, new animations (all her attacks, specials, supers, special ending in the super, unique character specific interactions with other supers), new voices (Jap, Eng), unique intro and outros with every character in the game, Story mode for her, different outfit colors, and different weapons.

What do I get with the DLC characters in other games Mr. Game developer?
Force_of_Nature
Force_of_Nature
Ok, GBVS is lacking a large enough compelling roster to compete with other $79.99 CAD games. GBVS is lacking a large enough story mode to justify full price. GBVS' roster size coupled with the game mechanics don't quite have enough depth to justify full price. The online offerings are nothing special because the game is a 2020 release with dated delayed netcode like every ArcSys game before it.
Force_of_Nature
Force_of_Nature
As pretty as GBVS looks, the game isn't exactly very taxing graphically. The game is a fully priced game that takes up 7.81 GB's of space as of Nov. 2020. SCVI takes up 17.58 GB's of space and DOA6 takes up a whopping 65.39 GB of space. SCVI & DOA6's graphics are a lot more substantial than GBVS' graphics, on top of the latter being 3D games.

Shitting on Power Rangers, Fantasy Strike or FEXL doesn't help your argument and leads to a "these games counter my argument so I'll dismiss them". Something like Killer Instinct definitely puts something like GBVS or BBTAG to shame, but of course it's exclusive to Microsoft and people like their anime.
