Inb4 anyone goes "do you throw controllers?"

The answer is no. Controllers aren't cheap and I refuse to rage or throw anything. All buttons are fresh and still has that fresh roughness for when you bought it the first time. It's that current Playstation pads get fragile just by existing.

Thank the heavens I stopped using them for fighting games years ago, but sucks for single player games.

that's why im rocking my 360 controller with a brook converter on my PS4 from here on out, a 360 controller that i've been using since 2011 for xbox and pc gaming and it STILL works fine, only thing that sux is if im playing a game that requires touchpad swiping im kinda fucked

but I refuse to drop 65 bux on another ps4 pad just to have the d pad stop working in 3 months

Idk man, I'm still using the same black DS4 that came with my PS4 and I bought that in 2016 that's 5 years, still works pretty much perfectly. For clarification its the old DS4 the one that doesn't have the light strip on the touchpad btw. I had a white V2 and it literally died as in wouldn't even turn on at all within half a year.

This is why you play on pc. Practically any controller pad or stick works on it.

Thinking back, any DS4 controller I had rarely went out. I have the DS5 now, and use it to play my PC games. I love it and I have my Xbox one/series pads as well. They tend to work better for me for shooters, but prefer the DS5 because of the silent buttons/dpad

I've heard people say that the PS5 controller is better compared to the PS4 one. The d-pad on the DS4 for me becomes unusable in 6 months if I keep playing fighting games with it continuously, compared to that a relatively new DS3 is miles better, that d-pad lasts for years for me, heck, I did slightly break one once because the d-pad wasn't working properly and that somehow ended up fixing it for a year or two.

That's just aggravating.

Sorry to hear about your Playstation pad troubles. The PS4 D-Pad is not made for fighting games. It's unfortunate. I've used Xbox One/Series X controllers and they fair better relatively over time. Have you tried a DS5/Dualsense controller? I have no idea how that one feels/fairs.

Preach!!! DualShock 4 is absolute trash. I’ve went through two controllers now, both of which have had severe drifting issues with both analog sticks. They’re so cheaply made for a controller that costs around $50 brand new. Meanwhile, my ancient wired DualShock 2 controller is still alive and kicking. They just don’t make em like they used to.

@Giannola Yeah I been using the PS3 controllers on Steam.

@ChaolanLegacy PS3 controllers were pretty good. Honestly still have good experience with it on Steam.

@Force_of_Nature I have a PS5 controller and haven't tested it on a PS4 yet but I heard it doesn't work on PS4's unless you use a brook converter.
