I wonder what staff from Doa3 is still around. Did it really go downhill once Shimbori left?

Probably ez-er money for slightly less work, because if they'd have to make a new DOA fg then the expectations are relatively high: rollback netcode or something that closely resembles that quality, stage interactions on par with past titles, tag mode, better looking game on all levels, something that they are unsure of if it'll make a profit or not.

Also, who knows if they can assemble a team good enough for that with a director who'd be capable enough to give us a quality product, my answer would be a: most probably not.

Afaik our best hopes now are with Yasuda, or maybe even Hayashi or Masakazu Hirayama...

Yeah I recently saw that Sakuda started on that game.
Hayashi idk thought he became Vice president of KT.
Maybe Prisms engine will be something that can be in the next FG series or even DOAX4.

Even in Hayashi's new position, maybe it's good he's in that position as it may be more likely for new DOAs and NGs to get greenlit in the future, at least. But as for anyone being there who we can have faith in to actually make/direct a new DOA well, that's harder to say.

I know it's a Japanese culture thingy, but can they please just drop the Dead or Alive name from the Venus Vacation franchise? I can't describe how embarrassing this game is.

DOA6 jumping to eSports/EVO trend, & toning game's sex appeal down from DOA5LR is how hard the fighting game franchise fumble. The Dating Sim was from TN wanting to expand VV brand into a separate game (while DOAXVV running strong with 7 Years and 5 Million Players).

On that note can they go ahead and drop the Xtreme from the title as well? considering this game doesn't even have Volleyball anymore from what i've seen

I can't process how someone who had been around at the time of DOA3 (one of the best iterations of this series), right after DOAX1 could be so out of touch once they got producer and screw up so bad they alienate half the fanbase. This went fast.

Making a brand new spin-off game of your own is okay but do not associate DOA or Xtreme to it if you deviate from them this much.

I don't think Sakuda is passionate about DOA as much as he's passionate about making money. Making fighting games isn't a sure-fire way to make money, that'd be like digging for gold in the desert with a spoon. Kawaii waifus is where the real gold is at. It's easier/safer to keep betting on the sure-fire winner than taking a chance on an underdog.

kinda reminds me of when Hayashi took the reigns of the NG franchise; since he'd been on TN since the Sigma days you'd think he'd have a handle on what NG should be, but then he grabs the wrong end of the wrong stick and turns Ninja Gaiden into an overly cinematic mashfest

guess it shows that you can have all the talent into world but if you don't have a strong leader with a vision that talent means nothing
