I think Ayane is a great character. Very evasive and a lot of whiff punishment tools. Whiff punishing with Ayane gives a more satisfying feeling than doing it with other characters, in my opinion. Also a lot of fun combos to use. I love using BT PP6P~K, sending opponents halfway across the stage.

Her evasion, movement and whiff punishment is amazing. Her taunts are pretty godlike too. Whiff punishing can be satisfying with other characters too such as with Momiji, but for most characters it's a lot harder to set up. Helps that Ayane & Momiji are so waifu too <3.

She has a lot of options, damage, crushing, and the best spacing game. Overall one of the best characters, I think

Against someone that knows how to use her? A force to be reckoned with, especially against one who knows their tools well.
Against someone who doesn't? Throw punish, throw punish, throw punish.

What would be considered an "unsafe" character?

LoL.... obviously it depends on the moves but Ayane is punishable...... and when I play with Tina its pretty much the only thing I can do.

Phase 4 is usually the Go to Answer to that question.

Phase-4 is a limited character, but I wouldn't really say that she's more unsafe than Ayane. Ayane can get punished hard if the opponent blocks an unsafe move that leaves her BT'ed. But yes, Phase-4 has less "safe" options than Ayane overall.

Technically Phase 4's and Kasumi's Un safety is pretty similar..... only Phase 4 doesn't have the String Manipulation to make up for it.

Its kind why its so hard to nail down exactly who is really an unsafe character.

I've always liked Ayane as a character. Design, story, personality and gameplay-wise, she's to Kasumi what Ken is to Ryu, what Iori is to Kyo, what Hwoarang is to Jin, whatever, you get the point. And i honestly like her bitchy and stuck-up traits, they give her way more personality than like, 70% of the cast tbh, lol. Just a cool chick all around.

She's bad ass, fast, cool, flashy and sexy.... That's about it.

I really don't like Ayane herself, but there's no denying she's a very good character.
