    It would seem that DOA yet again started/starts a trend when it comes to fighting games. First it was the stage transitions, now it seems that a couple of fighting games (namely Dissidia FF and DB:Xenoverse 2) are going to have (is having in FF's case) a F2P version of the game. That's actually not bad, I sort of wish that every fighting game would have a F2P version of itself.

    Considering the genre is niche, it gives people incentive to try it. Especially with low traffic online and ranked dying sooner or later. Another trend possibly as with MK11 is knowing if your opponent is using wired/wifi.

    Right, forgot about that completely. Yes, think DOA6 is the first fighting game to show whether your opponent uses Wi-Fi or cable. Ranked dying pretty soon is not much of a surprise to be honest, there are quite a few people who will get their U rank just by playing a lot after they got their S+ rank + lobby is arriving soon.

    A way to make costume part unlocks even better outside of increasing the drop rate in my opinion: Give players the ability to unlock parts for future dlc costumes as well, this way making dlc purchases (for costumes I mean) truly optional. This way you can grind for those costumes but if you want to use them instantly/as soon as they come out then you can just buy them.

    I don't think that's realistic with the boosted drop rate, you'd unlock them relatively quickly. Also if they don't make money on it like they did in 5, I don't see why they would keep putting out new and cool designs.

    True that, however, I don't think that the drop rate will stay x100 until the end of times but they probably won't be doing that either way, since dlc's were the main way they made money off of DOA5 and that is going to be the way they'll make lots of it with 6.

    Yeah, I think they're gonna do what they did in older games and use the same base intro pose but have different dialogue depending on relationship

    From what I've listened to so far Granblue has pretty dope music, which is super good since it'll get the ArcSys treatment on top of it. Just show me some interesting characters and good gameplay (seems like a GG styled game from the one trailer we got) and I'm sold.

    Don't forget Granblue also has a Platinum developed JARPG, next year. PGs last JARPG(NieR Automata) did really well so hopefully this will be just as good

    Almost forgot about that, yeah, that should probably be really good if Platinum Games are working on it. Also, lets not forget about their other interesting but amazing game outside of Nier: Automata, which is Metal Gear Rising: Reveangance.

    So GGXrd and BBTag are main games for EVO Japan and DBZ:Fighterz isn't? That's a bit strange. Also, this is the first time ever since Smash tournaments became huge that neither Melee nor Ultimate made it is as a main game(they'll most probably do/hold a side tournament for one of the two games).

    Yeah, heard about it 1-2 hours after I posted this comment, but its still awkward if I really think about it. DBZF and Tekken are owned by the same company, so in that case both games shouldn't be main stage ones, yet Tekken 7 is. same goes with ArcSys games. Getting the approval from Nintendo is definitely not too easy, thus I completely understand Smash missing from the main game line-up.

    Nice to see KOF up there. The series at times had not been very consistent despite having the most diverse communities so I was happy and surprised to hear KOF was on main stage.

    KOF literally has like over 20 communities from different countries, but their entry has not been high since it's one of the hardest 2D fighters out there. Still believe it's one of the best 2D fighter series in existence followed by GG.

    I like that you left out Street Fighter from the best 2D fighters ever list. I knew that KOF was/is quite the famous game with a huge fanbase, but these numbers are quite impressive. Let's just hope hope that KOF15 will look good and be the best game in the series so far, since character models were very bad in 14 if my memory serves me right. Even if the gameplay is good, that can bring the quality of the game down.

    So, Bethesda for the worst gaming company of 2018 with Fallout 76 for the worst game of 2018 is more or less a given at this point. Wonder if they'll be able to bounce back after screwing up as badly as they did. Probably not.

    Season pass for FFXV cancelled, only episode Ardyn survived(probably because its done at this point more or less) and a 33 million dollars loss? That's very rough, especially considering that it took and still takes them a lot of time to make their big games, KH3 was announced 5 years ago and we haven't heard much of FFVII remake since it got announced, which was like three years ago. Things don't go smoothly there.

    Melee will be a main game at EVO again and apparently GGXrd will not be one. Smash Ultimate takes 4's place as expected. Sort of wished that Melee wouldn't be returning, but I know that it is watched by a lot of people and there are a lot of entrants for that game each and every year.

    Well, that pretty much confirms that Nier characters won't be dlc in the future for BBTAG, a thing I'm quite fine with since there are many other characters from different games who would be better additions to BB than 2B and/or 9S.

    Now that Tekken 7 season 2 is here, that reminded me of how fans were angry about legacy characters missing from the game, yet they'll only play Anna and Lei a couple times in arcade and online and they'll never touch them again.

    I think the loyalists who used them before will stick with them but idk about bandwagon fans tho who just got mad because they saw it was the thing to do xD

    Of course, people like WayGamble will probably use him, but outside of character loyalists I really don't think everyone will use these two characters, Lei players will be a rare sight in a month. About the bandwagon thing, yeah, sounds familiar, like the Tira DLC bandwagon, the "bring back boobz for DOA" bandwagon. Almost every single fighting game has that one thing that makes some of their, well, fans a bit angry.
