COVID-19 killed the Dead or Alive franchise (as we know it).

Still having trouble figuring out how the above was fanmade years ago in blender and below officially teases what we get in 2025, just how on Earth?

Imagine making a region-locked Xtreme game with a 6 character cast and Dead or Alive in its title without announcing any DOA girl in your top 3 reveal.
Sakuda must be very proud of his character creations.
At this point, it would have been better to dissociate Dead or Alive from Venus Vacation.

Wish to be in awe of DOA again.
Wondering why we're getting this Unreal Engine-looking mediocrity in 2025, 6 years after DOA6, when we could have had Nioh 2's type of artsyle that is graphically on a whole other level of gorgeous.
NPCs in that game look better than the above ventriloquist.

Just woke up from a fever dream where everything was reversed after a pandemic that shut down the whole world.
Xtreme was DOA mainline and the fighting game served as a mere spin-off.
Gosh, it felt so real.

The definition of insanity is seeing Marie Rose's face over and over again on a new character and expecting different results.

DOAXVV last newcomers so far so white, dull, flavorless, same-face.

That Mai glow-up. Those amber eyes alone make her instantly more gorgeous..
Her DOA counterpart remains unmatched to this day though.

Unpopular DOAXVV opinions:

1. Elise actually looks more like pre-DOA5 Helena than current Helena herself facewise.
2. Amy is just Ayane with green eyes and long, light brown hair.
3. Koharu is just Marie Rose but with enhanced Asian features.
4. Tsukushi is some sort of Velma Dinkley and Ariana Grande mixture.

Helena is the character that has suffered the most come to think of it.
She has literally been through one hell of a roller coaster of emotions.

Her father got killed by Bayman first.
Right after, Christie just waits for the climax of her recital to shoot her.

Then here goes Ayane, trolling on her mother's passing in the same opera house in flames (for fun), and letting her mistake her for the murderer as a result.
